You're air intake doesn't like exhaust gases in the engine compartment.
That'll need to be extended.

My car loved it.
But the cheater pipe had to be hammered in a bit to clear the column.

Thats the info I was looking for. Is it extensive modification or just something simple? I dont feel like buying one and tearing it apart. How much did you have to hammer?
Pics would be great.

The Wastegate doesn't seal off from the turbine exit like on a Mitsubishi.

yeah - i have one here... i obviously havent used it in years being that I've long since did away with bottom mount, but i still have that thing. It always sounds like u've got an exhaust leak - thats the thing i didnt like about it.

some of the turbo elbows come with a center divider type piece built in that actually divorces the waste gate side from the exhaust side. its basically to keep your exhaust flowing fine without leaking and open up the wastegate side.

I always wanted to throw a pit bike muffler on a screamer pipe just to see how it sounds... don't ask me why

Heres something i made with an old civic header i had laying around. Sits right next to the downpipe so you dont have to worry about any flames and exhaust fumes in the engine bay. It does sound like an exhaust leak at idle witch is annoying as hell but when you get on it and the wastegate opens it sounds awesome.

Does yours have that divider in the middle?^^^ Im wondering if it seals of the exhaust from the wastegate adequately...

i have one like that from SSAC. it it has a divorced pipe that loops right back into the end of the elbow. my steering column is juuuuuust touching it so i dont' see it as a clearance issue.
obeewan, things also change when your engine is under load too. i'll be upgrading to nismo engine/trans mounts and i already have an engine torque damper. rememberr to take this into consideration if you do'nt already have some stiff mounts.

i forgot that your steering columns are on the same side as the downpipe. without the engine upgrades you mentioned are you having any rubbing issues?

I used the ssautochrome outlet with the divider in the middle. It doesnt seal very well and you can here the exhaust leak. It kinda sounds badass but its also very annoying. I actually might be selling this one to go back to a regular outlet/elbow
