does this happen to your gauges? or is it just me? The needle on my car just drops when it comes near empty. Scary thing is i don't know how much i still got to travel when it does.

that's why I always reset my mileage when I fill up. It's never happened to me before, but when its after 200 miles, I know I gotta fill up.

get a new o-ring seal for the gas tank and fuel pump lid and remove the fuel pump. make sure that you check all the components of the sending unit and the floater. also take a flashlight and look into the tank itself. it sounds possible that the shitty baffle inside the tank is leaning on the unit sometimes and causing it to go down. the baffle inside the tank is a real piece of shit and doesnt stand straight up like its supposed to. thos are things that i would check first.
