ok so a couple of weeks ago i installed a new battery on my 240 and ever since then its been giving me problems, at first it would have a hard time turning over, I would have to press on the gas so it would start, so this Monday I tried to turn the car on again. Mind you that I have a 600w amp in the back that i disconnected because the fuse that is in the fuse holder melted could it be that? but anyway I tried to turn it on this monday and nothing, it started to crank but then it just died. I tried to jumpstart it but nothing, I checked all the fuses and none of them are fried. Any type of help would be great!

sounds like a parasitic drain if the battery's new...something is drawing too much current. anything more than .5 volts is considered a "parasitic" drain.
repair any burnt up wires, and disconnect suspected problem areas then retest.........or you have a defective battery that's not holding a charge, warranty it out. and don't give me that "it's an optima" crap cause everyone always says that and it ends up being the problem. just because they don't leak and you can mount them at any angle doesn't mean they have an infinite shelf life...
