I'm choosing between S15 and Nardi (or other aftermarkets) steering wheel for my s14. Not sure if anyone who used to have both can throw some comparison..
Thanks.

i'd go with a nardi, etc. just not an s15
the s15 doesnt really fit that well (where it meets up with the steering shaft... there's a few inch gap.)

i've got one and i've never noticed a gap. i'm not saying it's not there, i just never noticed.

If you want airbag, S15.
Anything else, aftermarket

It depends on your preferance. If you want an airbag though stick with the S15, if you don't care then pick either.

if you want an airbag keep stock wheel.

The only reason I didnt get an S15 wheel and opted for an aftermarket was that I couldnt put a quick release hub on the factory wheel (duh). One more thing to discourage thieves from jacking your whip.

id go s15 because (dunno bout other states) but in hawaii its illegal to change the steering wheel if the car came with an airbag. some people get their cars taken away because of it

i think it depends on if you want a "track" look, or an oem look to your interior. if you have buckets, the detachable wheel is a wise choice due to getting in and out being a pain. ive had aftermarket before. i never wired the horn, i dont think i know anyone that actually has theirs wired either. i opted for an r33 gtr wheel this time around. it may change for me, but i know right now i really like my horn to work. Nardi's are fresh and baller with a works bell.

true! i dont have mine wired, and yesterday i almost ended up under this huge ass truck on my way to work cause i couldnt honk my horn :bite: it was hella scary, but yea if u have buckets, u should most def get a quick release aftermarket setup

I personally hate all stock steering wheels as they feel awkward and weigh 400 pounds.

ditto.
they feel really bulky to me.

its illegal pretty much everywhere in the US.
federal law.
some places are just more strict.

Yeah it's illegal over here too (cali) and I changed my steering wheel in my old S14. I crashed it and a cop was questioning me why my airbag didn't go off and I told him I changed it and he didn't even cite me. I've never been hassled before for it, but if a cop felt like being an asshole he could.

i would never upgrade to a different stock part.
even if it is OMG M4D TYT3 JDM.
why not keep the stock wheel if you want an S15 wheel.
what a waste of time/money/energy
get a deep dish sparco 325 or whatever it is.
that + splash SRS Z32/S14 hub = perfect distance from drivers seat IMO

because an s14 wheel is really ugly and hard to find in leather.
but i'm quite the opposite of you, half the upgrades on my car are other OEM parts; z32 brakes, uprights, and shift knob, skyline wheels, german headlights, JDM sideskirts, s15 wheel. i guess if you want to get down to it, the five lug, SE lip, rear sway, '96 grill, and black interior could be mmods too.
the point is, do what you want. it's all gravy.

Personally, the Kouki 14 steering wheels in Japan are where its at if you are gonna keep the stock look... just my two cents.

i bet yuo anything if you had a zenki with zenki tail lights you'd upgrade to kouki tail lights.

the kouki lights dont look as good as the zenki tails its hilarious how people think that the kouki are an upgrade

ah..i guess its just the s13 then. (i still dont like the s15 wheel. it looks nice...but for 200-300 bucks, i'd want something that FEELS better, rather than just looking nice.)
nardi wheels are cute, get a OMP wheel !!! 95mm all up in yo face

just me but.........
15 wheel seems like a waste of money. if i need an airbag, i'd just save my money and keep it stock. if i dont need/care for the airbag.... aftermarket all the way. they look/feel better.

Why not try to find the optional steering wheel the s14 came with. I believe it's made by momo

My Nardi classic feels great, and I like the way it looks. I've never really been fond of the S15 wheel.

thats just another reason to add to why i got a 91 hatch to build (never came with an airbag) def. not saying it's safer though :smash: although either way i'd go with nardi

+1 for the s14 momo wheel. I wanted that one but was harder to source, so I just went with a personal wheel.
