Ok, your selling a nice, new car for an older car you know nothing about. Then you're gonna ask really broad, opinion-oriented questions.
Unfortunatly, you need to get a flame-suit... because 240sx boards have been filled with people asking the same thing you are. There is a thread in chat, first page about a 12 second car. All flames. Then they'll say do a search.
Anyway. Car. Go by looks. Technically, 93 will be faster, cuz its lighter than the s14 (95+). But I personally like the s14 looks better.
Then the mods. An engine swap is not a mod. It is a transplant, and not something to take lightly. It is a couple week, multi-thousand dollar task.
I have a turbo KA, which is an often-overlooked option, seeing as import mags tout the SR so much.
I'm running a t3/4 on my KA, and an sr will have a t25 or t28. It will also have a bov and wastegate with it.
I am running a TiAL 35mm wastegate, and HKS SSQV bov.
Coilovers... again, $1200.
If you have cash, the 240 can be a toystore. If not, it is perfectly respectable stock.
If you don't have coilover cash, get an SE, because they have pretty stiff suspension.

thanks, but thats what i want is the opinions. i know im probably one of the many that ask the questions over and over again. I know about that on the clubgp forums- it gets annoying. i have read a little bit about the 240's, i dont know a whole lot but i think i know enough to get started.
you said you did a turbo in your car right? how is the engine holding up? all the cars that are for sale have 100,000 + miles on them, the engines seem a little worn out and thats why i was gonna go with the engine transplant. what are you running in the 1/4's and what hp are you hitting? i have some money for the performance mods but not a whole lot for suspension right now.

Everything is in my sig. My calculated hp is 195 at the wheels, 240 at the crank, based on my times, and the car weight.
For serious boost applications, KA or sr, you'll need to rebuild the bottom end anyway, so mileage isn't a concern if you want power.
My car is holding up fine, not tuned, no extra fuel, and has held up fine for 7k miles.

Eh, 240's are best with NOS anyways. Turbos are for girls NOS is for MEN.
Grab a couple hours, get a coke then go to freshalloy.com go to the forums then click on search type sr20det. Read away. Then come back here.

A lot of people chose their bov because of the name, or the sound. I chose mine because it has 2 valves, and reacts faster. There is a little valve that moves quickly and lets out a small ammount of air... then a large valve that will open and let out a really loud whoosh sound.
Based on many reviews, people with the SSQV like them. They are not as loud as a TurboXS, or distinct like a GReddy Type R bov, but... as for safety, they claim to be the best.
