There's your problem. Unless you want to recirculate the BOV, then you might want to get a tune to correct your altered air/fuel mixture ratio.

recirculate the BOV to the hot pipe?

Back into the intake. That's how the stock setup is, and that's what the stock ECU will think you have until you alter the settings.

Fuck it, roll through parking lots on Friday and Saturday and get everybody to look at you funny when you slow down for a speed bump. It's more fun that way!

damn i have read both arguments on circulating the bov back to the intake and to the intake pipe of the turbo

is it completely oppinon bases or actual logic as to why choose one over the other? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? :sadwavey:

if you mean either recirculating back to the intake or the hot pipe, its like this. the turbo sucks in air, and the compressed air goes out and through your ic piping. your bov is there to release the pressure in the ic pipes when the throttle closes so the pressure doesnt back up the system and cause the turbo to back spin, often called compressor surge. if you recirc. the bov to the hot pipe, it would make absolutely no difference. because youre releasing pressured air, into a pressured system. kind of like farting into your mouth. hence you should recirc. to the intake where the turbo is sucking in air, which is more or less vacuum instead of pressure. also, the reason for doing so, obviously, the bov releases air that was metered by the mafs, and the ecu doesnt know that it's been released so it sends more fuel to compesate for the air that it thinks is still there, hence, poping, boggin, back firing, etc etc. get it? run a blow through set up if you dont want to re-tune for an open atmos. bov. hope that helped.

Well routing it back into the intake pipe for the turbo doesn't seem to make much sense to me. It would be as if the air is still being vented atmospherically. Only difference is that instead of just going out into the atmosphere, it is drawn back into the turbo on compressed again. If you vent it back into the intercooler piping, that air is still going to be going to the engine when it is expecting it. I dunno that is ust how I see it, maybe I am way out to lunch.

the purpose of a bov is to relieve the pressurized air from the system. if routed to the hotpipe, it's like canceling out the effect of the bov. you might as well not run one. when it goes to the intake, after the mafs, the pressure is relieved from the system, also the metered air is able to be used, instead of floating off into space and keeps the ecu happy.

adjust the IACV.

louisedaboois explained it accurately, I couldn't put it in better words. You either recirculate it to the intake or get an engine management system. The greddy RS leaks at idle, recirculating it will help your car idle properly and cure the back fire.

No really, I am not kidding, ADJUST THE SCREW ON THE IACV.

very helpful info,

if i am correct in the mean time i should run the bov back into the stock intake pipe after the maf before the turbo for the most accurate results with out a tune...

thats was part of the problem it was ideling too high bout 1500 adjusted the IACV to 1000

now it back fires, tomorrow i will re-circulate the bov and post what happens

probably not an issue for you but having exhaust leaks also cause backfires

+1

When It slows down to a stop around 1500 it "backfires"
and all I have is 2.5 exhaust and aem intake -.-
