Me and a friend went and picked up some wheels this past Saturday and decided I would post some pics. He picked up some old school Starion wheels for his FC3S and I picked up some Supra Celicas for my AE86. First off here are some pics of the Supra Celicas.
Old School goodness. Looking pretty bad gotta lot of work ahead of me.

Started cleaning up and polishing his wheels first since I left mine at the shop.
:anger Heres how they look so far. He wanted me to polish the whole thing but getting in the little corners are gonna be a *****. So I think i'll just powdercoat everything that isn't polished black or gunmetal.

I still need to wetsand with 1000 and 1500 grit, then polish the wheel. I think its coming along pretty good though for my first try. I think the black or gunmetal would offset the polish wheel quite nicely. Any comments, flames, suggestions are more than welcome. I'll post some pics of them mounted on his FC when its done, as well as my wheels lol.

try using a fine scotch brite pad with some mothers mag and aluminum polish. then go to just a rag with mothers. you will be amazed.

No Flames here man :) I did the same on my 1979 Datsun 280ZX. It's wheels looked more like the starion wheels, i just wet sanded them and used a chemical paint remover to get the rest off. Poss Rep for you!!, Tough to find someone interested in the old school :)

Go to a TOOL/equip (Northern Tools down here) shop or Carquest and get Rouge.
Comes in diff colors.Should come w/ the Wheels to apply w/ as well.I had the white & the red.Diff colors for Fine- to-super fine.
Put the wheel on the end of a Die grinder (compressor) and those wheels will Looks fucking Chrome.I had to refinish the SSR lips I have and started w/ 180..worked up to 2000 w/ a DA sander....still ALOT of swirls when i was done w/ that.......the sec I hit it w/ the rouge - CHROME!
You could probably work up to like 1000 grit and take it from there w/ the rouge.
you may know what I'm talking about.very Cheap and takes only a few sec's each wheel.
Depends on how poloshed you want to go..Rouge will make them about Chrome.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions guys. Very much appreciated.
The Chad -thanks man! Yes I'm a very big fan of the old school. Funny thing too, we went up to Richmond to pick these wheels up. lol
Mr.Fairlady - I'm glad you mentioned that. I picked up a cushion sewn buffing wheel and some white rouge for the last step to polish. I'm glad to know that I'm heading in the right direction.

Speaking of Supra's, I used to have a set of 15's just like that. The face is a little more flat and they're not as wide but 15" supras are VERY hard to come by. If you ever find a set in the junkyard, I suggest buying them and reselling them.

What you guys think? I think it came out looking pretty good with the gunmetal accents. Should I clearcoat the wheel or leave it as is? Anyways 1 down and 1 to go and my friend can do the other 2 on his own lol. Time to work on my wheels. All in all its not perfect but much better than they were.

They look great. Are the center sections powder coated? I've got some starions that are going to need some work here in a bit.
You can definitely polish them further

Another slow day at work so I decided to get started on my one of my Supra-Celis. Here's how it looks after day 1. Had a hell of a time sanding out all the curb-rash. These bastards kicked my ***. lol

Tomorrow, more cleaning and sanding. If all goes well I should be able to polish and paint it as well. I think I'm gonna sick with the gunmetal accents, and the black v-line on the face. Hopefully I can get all 4 done by the time my Falken Azenis arrive. :)

I was thinking of clearcoating when the paint cures in a week. You guys think the Clear wheel coating will stick to the polish parts on the wheel? And center cap or no center cap? Funny Im posting pics of wheels for my AE86 on a 240 forum. I may hafta slap them on my s13 to see how they look.
Addicted2Kouki - Well my friend paid 250 for the Starions and I paid 100 bucks for the Supra-Celicas. So my cost for the wheels, and supplies "sandpaper, wheel polish, etc." 150 bucks. I had brought some other supplies that I ended up not needing so I returned them. As for the time I spent on the wheels its hard to say since i did alot of it at work in between cars. I would predict the Starion wheel took about 10 hours and the Supra-Celicas about 8 hours, 90% of it was cleaning all the rust, brake dust, grime off the back of the rim lol. I would say the rest of the wheels should only take about 5 hours piece since I don't have to experiment with different cleaners/techinques like I did with the first wheels.

holy wow that looks awesome.
buttt, i don't think they fit on a 240 because of the hub bore.
post pics of them on your corolla if anything.

celica-spuras are 4x114.3 so they should fit

The PCD will fit, but the hub bore is smaller on Toyota wheels so they wont fit on Nissan hubs unless you have non hub centric spacers or bore out the wheels.
