i got a question and i dont know if yall have seen it done but i was wondering if any of yall seen shaved door handels on an s14 before? reason i was curious about this is because if you remove the handles to shave, youll have to create the crease thats gose along the bodyline. and i was thinking how this can be done.

shaving door handles is worse than shaving your eyebrows

DONT DO IT BROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I'll be helpful, before the flaming gets too bad.

Go to a junk yard and cut two pieces out of an S14 there that are slightly larger then the door handles. Make sure you cut the panels with the bodyline through them. Now carefully weld them in to place, lining up the bodyline on the cut panels with the existing door panels.

The other options would be to shave the bodyline altogether, but that kills the look of the body. Or try to shape a bodyline by hand, but that is typically above a persons skill level.

Done and done.

its done by using tools, and fabbing up a set of replacement panels.

if its your daily driver, i wouldnt do it.
if its a dedicated car, so something else other than daily driving, and you think it'd benefit what you want the car to be...then by all means, knock yourself out.

i hear that if you shave the door handles on your s14 that it also means you shave your ass for your gay lover. just what Ive heard.
some guys play for that team. so just do what you wanna do, im sure it can be done. we have all seen the civics with full on gtr, sti conversions so how hard would it be to follow a body line.

I like when people ask questions that are so basic, simple, and obviously pointless.

It's like asking if anyone has ever put new wiper blades on their car. Yes, sure someone has done it, and people have probably seen it. Creating the bodyline is done just like any competent bodyman would create any sort of line for any other type of body work, there's nothing particularly unique about an S14 door.

But on the more important question, why? Nothing better than getting locked out of your own car. And to the fool who says "there's a failsafe in case the battery dies", we know that. A car with shaved door handles is the easiest pray out there because the owner has to make sure they can manually get in. Climb under it or look in the wheel well, find the cable, and pull. You're in, take all the free shit you want.

So make sure when you have it done to post up your address so all the local thieves can come clean you out.

lol.. im glad yall are pointing this out to me.. personaly i dont like it but my buddy gave a kit so i was wondering what the thoughts were.. i got another thought for yall.. well have anyone heard of the solex key locks? reason im asking all these questions is because my keys were stolen about a week ago. so now i have to change my locks or some sort.. what would be the best alternative here? i can make a copy of my key but it still wouldnt be safe.

check with your local laws too, it may be illegal, so when you go to get registered you have to swap doors?...

but the comment about no power, theres usually a lock that comes with the kit that you can put somewhere on the car in case of a dead battery.

Solex won't work on an S14. Get an immobilizer and new key set(doors, trunk, ignition).

If you're going to do it, do it with the right parts:

(Shaved Door Kit)http://www.fbirides.com/product.asp?idno=8949
(Billet Door Poppers)http://www.fbirides.com/product.asp?idno=8948
(Release Cable)http://www.fbirides.com/product.asp?idno=263421
And while you're at it:
(Lambo Door Kit)http://www.fbirides.com/product.asp?idno=8946 (http://www.fbirides.com/product.asp?idno=262901)

There you have it, quality parts to get you through the day. Any my obligatory name drop to my brother's place of business and my old job.

i think shaved handles look great on certain classic cars. like old "bombs", low riders and some rockabilly.

But they look like shit on modern cars.

And how the hell did you get your keys "stolen"? thats pretty hard to do right?? I mean, there in your fucking pocket, right?? lol

All new factory locks bro, sorry.

I have shaved door handles on my integra, sure people get a kick out of hitting their fingers on the door when they find out you have no door handles but dam it gets annoying for me after awhile. IMO, i'd rather keep the door handles, it'll make things easier for you, trust me.

well, im not too much of a fan for shaved doors. but i dont think id mind the dor lock kit. ill probaby just install the door lock kit with the poppers so it would disable the handle lock. i guess it be like a decoy but un usable. i already have a hidden power switch for the ignition so thats not a problem.i realy dont have another option cause if i got my locks new from the dealer.. that would cost me a bundle. the door lock kit has an extra back up battery incase of the power issue and also has a emergency switch. i dont even like shaved doors much less never put lambo doors on a 240....

I have heard and read in a recent study that shaved doorhandles and Buttsex go hand in hand, or dick in ass.
Whichever you prefer.

Back in my minitruck days I shaved the handles on my s10. It was fun at first, but over time they just became annoying and a real pain in the ass. Personally Id leave the shaved door handles to mini truckers and street rod guys.

I do it at work on occasion, it's not easy at all even after doing it a lot. If someone is asking, they more than likely can't do it in this case.

A: Put all your replies in one post, you don't need to reply 3 times in a row to answer 3 posts, it's what we call "whoring" your post count.

B: The door poppers are spring loaded. The idea is that with no handles, and no huge space between the body and your door, you hit your button, the latch undoes itself and the popper "pushes" your door ajar for you to open it, I don't know what you thought it was. If you need a "door lock kit," the one I linked isn't made for it, it's made to have remote controlled solenoids to unlatch your door for you, since you wouldn't have handles anymore. You'd have to find something else to fit your criteria.

If your battery dies you can put the emergency release in the trunk, You would have to be crazy bored to shave the trunk lock. I looked into installed the new corvette door lock system into my 240 but it ended up being more trouble than it was worth to source the parts

that was my immediate thought.. you wouldn't be shaving the trunk lock.
it'd be kinda cool but time and money could be better spent elsewhere, imo.

I've had it, not on the Schassis tho.
I personally liked it, but there were couple times that I had the car running and forgot to roll down the window when going to check something under the hood. FUCK!!!!! Than stood around for few mins looking like I'm braking into my own car.
Its fun to watch people's faces as you pull up and tell them to get in and they look for the handle to open the door.

I wouldn't do it again in a daily driver.
