PH4386 assuming that your asking about a S13 blacktop SR.

That fram is for redtop, but same shit I believe.

Come on guys how many of us have used Fram and still made it well past 200k on the odometer??...I know i'm guilty. I love the grippy ease and convenience of the Fram :) . But.....Factory is allways best, i recently switched back to OEM and everything is filtering out fine. I still need to gut out both and see if there is any difference. Hmmm....

fram is shit

use the same filter that comes in a 240sx, ppl24457 is the purolator/pro-line number

plus the threads on the frams are more recessed than AAAAAAAAANNNNYYY other filter. i've had a fram pop off on me back in the days. will never use one again, thank god for the oil dummy light tho lol.....and the trail of oil in the rear view mirror >_<

Dave =] and i do know it off the top of my head but i'm not going to give u the fram part # :) for ur own good

The Chad

^^^ pop off!!!?? haha I agree Fram might not be the best...but popped off!!?? Were you autocrossing @ 120mph :) ? Haha i def want the story behind the popped off oil filter.

no. my sr20 back in 2000 didn't have much threads sticking out on the oil adapter on the block, the fram screwed on tight, i go on my merry way. i smell rubber burning, look in the rear view and see my trail....all my precious mobil 1 on alpheretta highway. so i ran to the closest place aka napa, got a filter and some more oil, voila. was thinking maybe i did something wrong....this was 8 years ago..

time for next oil change. my cheap ass goes to wallmart again, buy's a ph6607, puts it on there. i make it 20 miles and saw the oil light come on. shut the car off. got a ride, come back with my tools and a new filter/oil. i look and i see that the fram's only bite like 2.5 threads. i compare the fram to a napa one, and i see that the threads on the napa are almost flush with the rubber o ring. i look at the fram and i see it's recessed more, so it doesn't bite on as many threads as the others.

i got lucky, and i hate fram

The Chad

lesson learned haha. Shit i guess i've just lucked out for the last 7 years :) Well i'm sure the threads on the filter are a tad different than my KA24DE and my friends SR20DE and SR20VE ( he allways uses OEM , works at a Nissan Dealer as a Parts manager)....or maybe i've just got the "popeye" forearm from too much free time and get the filter too tight on the block :)

its a ph6607, do not use it if you like your SR

use oem, or mobil 1 is about the best you can get.. the mobil is a ML-103 or somehting like that...

FUCK K&N. Bastards had the wrong seal on it. And trust me, I double checked to see if I screwed up by getting the wrong one. I didn't.

Went back and got a fram w/ the coolest black grip. :ughd:

Umm...use the same year engine you have for its USDM counterpart. Redtops will use 91-93 SR, Blacktops will use 95 SE-R.

It's easier for me to remember if I use chassis codes because the b13 uses the s13 sr and the b14 uses the s14 sr :D

Fram filters are horrible. Mobil 1 or OE for me. This should shed some light onto the quality of different oil filters.

mobil 1 filters are the way to go. cheaper than k&n, but filter out more microns.
