Speedometer Issues

Anybody know if the speedo sensor for the S15s are the same kind of sensor as in the S14s? Reason im asking is that im trying to fix my speedo issues and it was working before. I found a break in the wiring from the main fuse box. So i figured im going to try to bypass the break, i did that, dash speedo works but the speed on my pfc is way off. Im doing 50 kmh and the commander is showing 180 kmh or something crazy like that. I replaced the sensor that was on the tranny thinking its the sensor before i chased the wires.

Background: S14 zenki chassis with a S15 engine w/ a S14 lower harness and tranny.

From what I remember the S15s use a sensor located on the diff so it'd be a totally different and hard setup.

Again, im using a S14 tranny with an S14 cluster...besides, Kouki S14s and S15s use the same power FC so I dont see how the signal could be different.

S15 uses ABS sensor on diff.

If you're using S14 trans it doesn't matter.
I didn't get to play with my PFC just yet, so i don't know if you can calibrate the speed with it.
2000 pulses per mile, i believe is what you need for nissan speedo.

Hmm...well since i got my cluster atleast working, would it matter to the PFC as far as how its running if the speed input to it is jacked up? I checked around the PFC and looked for anything that might have to do with calibrating the speed for it and havent seen anything...

yeah, sorry don't know.
my pfc is still sitting in my room, SR on the engine stand, trans still in the box. LOL. So I didn't get to mess around with it yet, and its going to be a while before I do. :(
best bet would be talk to steve shadows, maybe he can help you out.

if you're using an s15 power plant, with an s14 tranny, and s14 cluster.....why wouldn't your speedo work?

if it doesn't work you either have a bad cluster, bad sensor, or bad wiring, only 3 logical things it could be... @@
