(Not sure if this is the correct place to post this)
Ok, so I am going to ask a favor of you guys that drive s13s and have stance GR+ coilovers on your car. I am a very busy person and need some quick help with ride height. I would reall appreciate it if you could give me some pictures of your car, and if it isn't to much of a pain, could you count how many threads you left (not sure how to explain it, as I am blanking on the correct terms).
I live in an apartment complex and wherever I may be putting on the coilovers I have to be speedy about it, so I would just like to have my ride height set before I start, and not have to adjust them a lot (if at all).
I really appreciate it!

Cool, could you possibly get a picture?
btw, I drive a coupe if that will really make a difference (it shouldn't, but just for picture references)

To the OP, your wheel/tire combo will play a role in how much ground clearance you will have.
Might want to post that too.
Best bet would be going to a friend's/relative's house so you can have a bit more time to bolt on your coilovers and adjust them.

I will probably have to find a place I have more time at, this would just help from wearing out my welcome, because I know they are busy people also.
Anyways, right now I have stock wheels and tires, but I plan on going with 225/50/16 soon after I get the coilovers on, a 16x8 +4 offset.
Thanks for the help.

I can go AT LEAST an inch lower in the front, probably 3 in the rear, I'm on 17s and the front bumper scrapes EVERYTHING. And the down pipe drags alot too. They will go low enough, I know I could lower the front all the way down and the bumper would probably be sitting on the ground. And that is all with no preload. Here is pic for reference:

The best thing I've done and experimented with on mine and other friend's coilovers so far is just make all the coilovers equal lengths then slap them on and check how much wheel gap there is after the car settles a bit.
Afterwards, I just measure the gaps all around then adjust the ride height on each coilover according to how many inches/cm i want to reduce the gap by.
worked the best for me so far and i've been satisfied.
i'm sure you wont dial in the right ride height by any method "quickly" and in one day. Usually, I'd say take your time on a whole weekend.
Most of my friends who work on car's wouldnt mind if I left my car in their garage over teh weekend while I worked on my car if I didn't have space so I'm sure a friend of yours is nice enough to give you a little favor.
But as for your question, a nice ride height I like is about 1.5 inches of the shock itself poking out below the lower bracket. I have about 2.5 inches clearance from the frame and about 1-2 inches clearance from the lowest point of my exhaust on 15x8 wheels with 205/50/15 tires. I have about 1-1.5 inch gap from the tire to the fender.
EDIT: Reading the post below reminded me that my setup has the fender liners removed and all the fenders rolled.

Have you clearanced your front fenderwells? Removed fender liners, clearanced the upper pinch welds, and re-routed the wiring harness? If you haven't that is what is going to limit how low you can go. Put the front coils on the car without the springs, take a jack and jack the suspension up on that side untill the weight of that corner of the car is resting on the bump-stop, now adjust the lower mount untill your tire hits something and the give it about 1/4" of clearance to whatever it hit. That is as low as you can safely go without modifying the fenderwells.

My fender wells are taken out, and I plan on rolling, and if need be pulling the fenders. And also if I need to I will move the harness. I just wanted to try and get a feel for how low I should go with these coilovers without having to go through tons of trial and error. I guess it seems like I will probably just have to plan for that anyways.
Thanks for all the help and getting the pictures for me.

If there is salt roads then the salt/sand and water can get into your engine bay, in your fenders, possibly rockers and rust them.. thats the downside of not having them.

Re-route your harness above the pinch weld on the fender apron and beat the pinch weld that has a tendency to cut tires with a hammer. If you do not do these two things you will regret it.

Yes I will definitly do that. There are few nice right-ups online somewhere (probably here on zilvia) that I will be following.
