I want sell my car, I'm thinking about getting another 240 or a different car. Depending on how much i can get for mine.

here's a description of my car:
1996 240sx SE (supposed to be black)
103k mi on engine
40k mi on transmission
10k mi on clutch.
I've ran synthetic oil (Royal Purple, almost $6 a quart) for the last 10-12000 miles on engine (changed every 3000mi) and redline MT-90 on transmission

[/b]Modifications[/b]
Aesthetics:
1997-1998 front end conversion:
hood/fenders off an 97-98 s14
(silvia headlights and I will most likely keep, and replace with usdm lights)
Silvia K's trunklid with spoiler
1998 s14 tailights
S14 Silvia Grill
1998 240sx usdm bumper

car will need repaint because the the 97-98 parts are blue
basically the car looks like a 97-98 240sx.
Engine:
Mostly stock,
NGK wires NGK V power plugs (maintenance)
5 zigen exhaust. (or stock exhaust).
K&N drop in Filter

Suspension (pretty much stock):
Front ladder bar,
Tanabe SuperH springs (that is if nismo270r doesnt buy them)

Interior:
B&M short shifter
B&M shift knob
Full 1998 240sx cloth interior (including door panels)
35% tint

Electronics:
Alpine CD player (stock amps have been removed.)
Apex-i Multichecker engine condition monitor
Clifford Concept 100 Alarm with hood and trunk pinswitch triggers. glass tampering sensor and shocks sensor.

I am the 3rd owner of the car.
I have all service records.
I do a lot of the work myself and have most receipts for the items I purchased.
All the 100k mi preventive maintenance has been done (radiator flush, tune up, differential oil, transmission gear oil, etc.)

I am interested to see how much I can get for the car. So start making offers

only things I will part from the car right now:
5zigen Fireball 60mm exhaust 4-5 months old $300
Apex-i Multichecker $$ make offer (I might keep this handy device unless price is right..):).

As for the people who know me, who are going to ask me WHY I want to sell the car, I want to get a 97-98 maybe with lower milage or an s13... just want something different. even if it's a different year, color, etc.. nobody will understand my reasoning. i wonder if [email protected] will sell me his car

well, let me know guys....

I'd say you can pull upto $7000 on the car, but with the mileage, look closer to the $5500 range. I'm considering doing the same thing, because I was looking for a S13 when I found my S14, but until I'm rolling in a nicer daily driver, the S14 gets enough looks.

that's pretty low, even for a normal 1996 240sx with that much milage. they go for over 6000-6500 around here.

I also have the following suspension mods:
Nismo Power bar/ Tension Rod Brackets
East Bear Pillowball tension control rods.

7-8k

After all the plastic surgery ... it's still just a 96.

How about 6K? Because of the mismatch coloring and everything. Does it have ABS? sunroof? It's a nice car, but still 6K reasonable I think.

Thats an obvious yet some what pointless fact , I stated that 95-96's are worth more than $5000- 6000.
There is more metal than plastic involved in what you call "surgery".

$7-8k sounds about right.

It is a 1996 240sx SE, has all options, except ABS and LSD.
it does have a sunroof as well.

to a normal person.. 6500,
[multi color main factor]
and as i was looking around the auto trader many of the cars our years have around 80k - 90k.. well the more expensive ones like the one below..
i was bored so i found another car you could compare to slightly..

1996 Nissan 240SX SE

Color: Black
VIN: JN1AS44D9TW053688
85020 miles, $7500

not to say that your car isnt worth more, but to a normal person your car wont get around 8..

an enthusiest.. sure.. you can get that much easy.. you just have to show em the front conversion and blah blah and tail lights yea.. you can net that though.. well hopefully anyway

If you do plan on selling it, will you contact me? MY friend is looking for a 240sx. Where did you get your 14a conversion parts?
Why did you get the silvia k's trunklid? is it lighter?

I got my conversion stuff partially through a friend and partially though jspec.com. Silvia K's trunklid came with the Silvia K's aero wing, so i decided to get it.

----------------------------------------------------------

I just realized, because my grandmother sold her camry (which i was initially insured under), my insurance will jump back to $1500 semi annually in 6 months. Grandparents have already plopped down $4k for me in insurance alone (I'm a spoiled brat.. yes..) thats a lil too much, maybe I will get an older car...

yea, i agree, to say its worth 5k-6k I would say is a bit low.

but yea, even to a non enthusiast about $6500, because those people could care less about 97-98 front end.. But then I probably wont let go of the car for that much.
but we'll see. I would rather sell the car to someone who can appreciate it.

Anyone who might be interested in the car?

i'm interested in your car's front lip, where did you get it? how much? and how much you spent on kouki conversion?
i'm also quite interested on your S14 aero wing.

Kouki conversion cost about $1300 (used parts). about $2000 including the trunklid/wing and rear tailights.
I have a VIS front lip. (this is already taken).
None of the other items will be parted out.

Does your car have any dents/scratch? Does it have a clear title? I think 6000-6500 is a good price for your car. Since it needs to be repainted and the high mileage. Where are you located? What's the lowest price you would go?

Ok I've decided, I'm asking $8000obo for my car. I know it is high $$, but I've invest a ton of $$ into it that I already wont get out of it. I am located in San Diego, CA. The car has a clear title and has been in one accident, but that was before I bought it.

The car will come with pretty much everything I listed (except front lip) I will be including the Silvia Headlights as well, unless you guys prefer the USDM ones or something.

I should also have the stocks springs/shocks for my car as well.

I also have a set of 30mm iron 300zx front brake calipers to go with the car, including the rotors as well. The calipers have also already been powdercoated.

I was planning to paint the bumper and the right front fender so the car will look somewhat proportional color-wise, with only the trunk and hood blue, and clean. There is a dent in the rear quarter panel (barely noticable, but there) due to a girl hitting me at school (when she was parking).. a mudflap or side skirt will even cover that dent. The car is still pretty clean and in decent cosmetic condition. (with exception of some dings).

I also have more pictures i can post, and if anyone in Southern california wants to come check it out in person, feel free to.

$8k at LEAST. Add kbb value of car to 'used' value of parts on car. Subtract $1000. Of course, the 'used' value varies between each person. However, seeing as how you could sell the kouki conversion and get a '95-'96 frontend for next to nothing (because nobody wants them), as well as all the mods, then sell the car stock and come out a few thousand above 8k, 8k is not a bad deal.

$7500, but I don't live in your area nor the west coast.

Why sell your car after just recently spending $$$ on it?

I already had an answer your question

"As for the people who know me, who are going to ask me WHY I want to sell the car, I want to get a 97-98 maybe with lower milage or an s13... just want something different. even if it's a different year, color, etc.. nobody will understand my reasoning."

I've done pretty much most of what I wanted to do to it, and in the end I'm still not satisfied. I'm thinking about going european.

But that is all I have to say.
