If you have a ps2 you should try FF12. It is a mix of MMO and JRPG styles. Seamless and active combat. Pretty nice graphics too.

Almost forgot, the story is more politically driven than cheesy, moody romance.

If you are talking about Crisis Core it is for psp. If you are referring to a FF7 remake it would most likely be for PS3. Personally I think the Japanese developers are getting away from console exclusives though.

I'm such a huge FF fan. 7 being my all time favourite. I still have the original game from the frist day it came out. I've done everything possible in FF7. I've even beat the game in 20 hours. That's without doing a single sidequest and running away from most battles. I cannot wait for this... and a remake on the PS3 would be the greatest thing since sliced bread... but not better than sex.

If you look at what they have made there isn't a whole lot of Enix in SquareEnix. TriAce has made a few games but I think of them kinda independently of Enix.

Mating two gold chocobos just gets you another gold one, but possibly with better stats. My girlfriend JUST got into FF7 when I told her she couldn't watch Advent Children until she played through FF7... and waited five years. She loves the chocobos though and spent hours and hours breeding perfect ones till she had the ultimate gold chocobo, interbreeding for the best stats (max speed and stamina). Something like 8-10 chocobos from 3 parents. Freaky.

yes i couldnt get past sepiroth then that fuckin monster(emerald weapon). So i gave up i read all the rpg guides and i guess i couldnt do it so i gave up and played parappa the rappa and then when ff8 came out i hated it because i didnt understand the whole card game. So i stopped playing that. Then one day my friend comes over and hes telling me about the new ff coming out. i told him i was over it. I couldnt beat ff7 and he laughed so he came over with his memory card and went to the last boss and all he did was use knights of the round and bam 9999 9999 9999 99999 my jaw dropped and 2yrs later i finally saw the ending of the game and it completed a chapter of my life. i still have them at my moms house in the garage along with the saved data from his memory card on my lara croft memory card. lol.

FF7 didn't have a red chocobo, I think that was FF9...

In FF7 you had:

Yellow, standard chocobo, only travel on flat land.
Blue, could travel on flat land and shallow waters.
Green, could travel on flat land and climb over mountains (could not go on water).
Black, could do all of the above.
Gold, could do everything black could + walk on deep ocean.

I could honestly play this game over and over again and never get tired of it, such a solid game. The storyline is so indepth and just sucks you in once you get past Midgar, when the real problems unfold. I remember the first time I played and got to the end of disc 1 (what happened with Aeris...) I was in complete shock and awe. It just makes you hate Sephiroth that much more throughout the entire game, and it also makes him hands down the best villan in any Final Fantasy game.

Late twenties and on, we all started off playing with craptastic graphics on atari and coleco. Maybe that is why. A good nes game like zelda and I wont even notice it's 8 bit. Maybe it's just me. FF12 graphics destroyed FF7's but FF12 sucked.

I am a big time platform gamer and have yet to buy a 360 or ps3. Not that I can't afford them, but there is still so many great games I have yet to play on nes, snes, dream, psx, ps2, etc.

I dunno what happened. It only happened once. I didn't do anything out of the ordinary either.
Nothing else happened either. The story went on as normal. She only appeared in my menu and in battle.

No. Early in the game, once you are out of Midgar, there is that swamp with the big Wurm thing that casts that Fire Spell that will kill anyone it hits. Once you have enough HP to survive one of them on Cloud, load him up with some fire resist (I think there is a materia for it early on) and a put the Learn materia on him. Have everyone except Cloud skip their turns until you get the Wurm to cast the fire spell. If Cloud lives through it, run.

The spell is stupid overpowered early in the game. Later on, once you have the spell, you will eventually end up in the city with the Midgar Cannon thing that points out into the ocean. At some point while you are up on the platform with the cannon, there is a sequence where there is alarms going off. There is a hallway in one of the buildings (you can see the alarm lights going off while you are in it) where you can get attacked by guards and their pets. If you pair your Learn Materia with an All, you can cast that fire spell on the entire group of enemies and kill them all in roughly 1 hit (they may need another smack to die). When these guys die they give you stupid amounts of experience and Gil. You aren't supposed to spend a lot of time in this area so I think it was over looked. If you hang out in this hallway for a couple hours, you can earn so much experience and Gil it pretty much makes you God status for the rest of the game.

Don't forget though that the very last boss in the game gets much harder if Cloud is over level 90. When I stopped playing the game I figured it out on my Cloud was over level 70 before the end of the first disc. There is also a save point like right in that building too, so you can swap out characters and even out the XP.

The Thornberry trick was with stealing mega-elixers right?

No. Early in the game, once you are out of Midgar, there is that swamp with the big Wurm thing that casts that Fire Spell that will kill anyone it hits. Once you have enough HP to survive one of them on Cloud, load him up with some fire resist (I think there is a materia for it early on) and a put the Learn materia on him. Have everyone except Cloud skip their turns until you get the Wurm to cast the fire spell. If Cloud lives through it, run.

The spell is stupid overpowered early in the game. Later on, once you have the spell, you will eventually end up in the city with the Midgar Cannon thing that points out into the ocean. At some point while you are up on the platform with the cannon, there is a sequence where there is alarms going off. There is a hallway in one of the buildings (you can see the alarm lights going off while you are in it) where you can get attacked by guards and their pets. If you pair your Learn Materia with an All, you can cast that fire spell on the entire group of enemies and kill them all in roughly 1 hit (they may need another smack to die). When these guys die they give you stupid amounts of experience and Gil. You aren't supposed to spend a lot of time in this area so I think it was over looked. If you hang out in this hallway for a couple hours, you can earn so much experience and Gil it pretty much makes you God status for the rest of the game.

Don't forget though that the very last boss in the game gets much harder if Cloud is over level 90. When I stopped playing the game I figured it out on my Cloud was over level 70 before the end of the first disc. There is also a save point like right in that building too, so you can swap out characters and even out the XP.

The Thornberry trick was with stealing mega-elixers right?

EDIT - Ok. I just went from 6 to midnight watching the preview for FFXIII. They do a full video demo of the actual gameplay along with a complete battle and I only have 3 words to say "HOLY FUCKING SHIT". This game is totally going to rock socks. I have to say though, the preview is in 1080i, which means the game likely won't be 1080p on PS3, but who cares. If you have seen The Spirits Within on Blu-Ray, the graphics are VERY similar in terms of character design, but with more realistic features and better color. This disc also contains 4 different FF7 bonuses including a history of the FF7 story, a complilation of the original FF7 game, and all kinds of shit. You FF lovers better go buy this on Blu-Ray. It's worth every penny. And take this from a hardcore FF series fan.

yeah i know exactly what u mean, i did it once for about 2 hours then got bored...lol

and the thornberry trick is to gain mad XP, i believe u cast Holy (the materia that cast a halo over ur head so if u die u return, or i think its pheonix) anyway...u pretty much die and cast to come back, u haste urself while slowga thorny, and just pwn away, pretty much depending at ur level u go up 1-2 levels every fight...got everyone to 99...beat all the weapons that way and mastered every single materia...
