ok a while back i bought the megan racing alluminum lightweight pulleys for my Sr well when i did tha i went ahead and bought new GATES belts. like a week after we put the pulleys on the belts started squeekign really bad and REALY LOUD. it has progressively got worse to the point of not just start up squeeking for about a minute or so to after it warms up to temp and ill be driving come to a light and say my car bogs down and they start squeeling again it really sucks so i have gone to advanced and napa and they cant cross reference the belt number for me to get possibly a smaller one....the one thats on there is a 37 in belt i think and yes the tensoners are maxed out and it still squeels... my question for you guys is where do you SR guys get your belts from?? also is anyone running these same allumin lightweight pulleys??? any help would be appreciated thanks a lot

tensioners are maxed out?
there is such a thing as proper belt tension. I don't know what size belt you're supposed to use with those pulleys, but too much belt tension will kill your water pump, alternator...anything with a pulley on it.
measure the actual belt tension and make sure it's within spec.
If it is...get some belt dressing...or some new belts.
edit:nvm you said the belts were new

im running the greddy pulley's (which are pretty close to the megan ones) they shouldnt be over/under drive, so the same stock sized belt SHOULD fit. As far as belts im running the power enterprise ones..havent had any problems with them...
stock belts sizes (pulled off heavy throttles website) are Gates K050370 Alt. K040345 PS & most AC

get a squirt bottle full of water and run the motor, if the noise goes away when you spray the belts, it the belts or tension. If it doesnt go away, its one of the pulley bearings. First thing you should do is check the belt tension. Find the longest stretch between pulleys and try to flip the belt over, you shouldnt be able to turn it past 180 deg (or less).

at least someone else around here knows how to check belt tension. that whole 1 inch of play up and down doesnt work.....geometry will always change, which will vary results.
