I had the car sitting for a while during winter since I was out of town. And when i got back and started the car, it sounded like it was misfiring and engine was sputtering. got around to checking the compressions for the cylinders, and it was 125 on the 1st and 2nd, zero in the 3rd, and only 100 on the 4th. so i was wondering if you guys know what might've been the cause of it. car was running perfectly fine right before i parked and left town. If you guys have any idea or suggestions, please let me know. thanks.

#1 Did you correctly perform a compression test?
#2 How long did you start the car and run it, after it was sitting?

lol maybe someone took your car for a joy ride while you were out and had a lil too much fun...
but yea i dunno if this could happen if it just sits. someone here might have useful information tho.

no matter how lazy some people can say they are, the fact is nobody likes sitting for long periods of time to end up having a sore ass. same thing goes with all things mechanical. sounds like you had a little bit of build up in that cylinder before you left town. a week is enough time for that build up to settle to the bottom and cake on top of the piston rings. and gues what happened right when you fired that bad boy up? all that build just went ahead and stressed those rings. it's actually a pretty common thing to happen to any car.

today i got a chance to lift the valve cover and see what was going on. found out...one of the camshafts was snapped in half, so only the front two cylinders were getting action. pretty sure it was the camshaft on the exhaust side, as it was the driver side. if you guys have any suggestions of which cams i can use that'd be awesome. thanks
