I think you should balance your checkbook, or bank account
Make an excel file or something, so that you can track how much you are spending, what payments are out pending, etc
I don't think you can void the overdrafts on someone's account....and even if you could, I'm thinking that the person might get in trouble

i used to work for Wells Fargo and you can reverse other people's OD fees but you can get in trouble for doing so. but aspec has the right idea. only way to make sure you dont OD is to keep your checkbook up to date. you can also link up say a credit card or savings acct up for ODP(overdraft protection) and you get a small fee and they transfer the funds to makeup for it(only one transfer a day so you only get 1 fee). all the info i gave u is for WF but im sure BofA isnt much different.
oh yeah at WF you only get an OD fee if the charge is over a dollar, even if you just OD for 6 dollars with only 5 transactionseach trans was over a dollar so you get 5 od fees for 6 dollars overdrawn. 5 od fees at 33 each is 198 dollars in fees for goin 6 dollars overdrawn. this is how banks rape you.

What I usually do so that I dont overdraw my account is check my balance online every morning before I go out and use my card.
But then again i work where i bank so its easy to keep track of my spending.

Just call up their customer service and explain to them politely that you've been a loyal customer and this and that and most of the time they would reverse/waive the fee. It's been 100% for me *knock on wood*
If they wont budge, ask for supervisor cuz you want to cancel the account.

Nah I have overdraft stuff from BOA too, they won't reverse it on the phone. They suck... Get overdraft protection to have charges rollover to savings or a credit card just in case.

ya, best bet is if you have someone that works there, second, i think the most they can get you is 5 fees at once, happened to a buddy on mine...but most importantly, it sounds like you went in the negative, because you were low on cash and Bank of America has a monthly charge thing..so what i would recommend is go with WAMU, no monthly charges or yearly, and no limit on how much you have to keep there...ive been in the same shoes before...good luck bud

Actually...Tyson.
What type of account do you have @ bank of america?
If you have the student/campus edge checking account.
You are allowed 1 overdraft fee to be canceled/Fixed.
Talk to your private banker at the bank.

I used to work at wells fargo call center and people would always threaten to close thier acct but maybe 5% actually did. i use to keep track of the people who threatened me that they would close thier acct if i didnt reverse OD fees almost all of them never cancelled thier acct.

WERD! bofa sucks my balls, the cutoff deposit time is the stupidest shit ever. And especially when you go to dispute a charge or whatnot, they direct you to the m'f'in phone! there shit is f'd up. They suckered me in with the sweet mini pic.hehe. After I racked up like $180 in od fee's I left for a credit union. Best advice, go with a credit union. That shit is tight! Imagine all the extra money I'd have if I just kept a check book. Damn, plastic is too easy to use.

most of the people that get numerous OD fees are the ones that never keep a checkbook. At Wells Fargo i got a call from a guy who had no clue what an account number was. do you know how hard it is to explain that to someone.

I have no issues with BOFA. When I was in highschool i had a couple OD fees, but that was because I didnt know how much was in my account. I called and usually got most my fees reversed. I opened an extra account with wamu for about a year and HATED them. I stick with ING and BOFA. I have no complaints with either now.

Fuck WaMu.
I had some fraudulent charges on my account a few months ago with them.
I found out before it hit my account, let them know immediately, and it still hit my account.
So, I was out $400(all I had back then) for an entire week. Had to keep borrowing gas money from parents(I hate borrowing money...period).
They credited my account back $400 because I had filed a complaint. Key word, credited.
3 months later, I receive a card saying they were going to reverse the $400 back out of my account because I never filled out a form they sent out(which I never received). Since I never filled out the said form, the claim was closed because I did not provide them with the necessary information. My argument was, I NEVER GOT THE FUCKING FORM. Even after letting them know, they still let me know that I got screwed out of $400 bucks.
Even though I knew what item was purchased, where it was purchased at, when it was purchased, where it was shipped to, and what alias they used, they didn't want to refund me my $400. I did my own little investigation and found out someone ordered a coach bag via Nordstrom.com that was worth $397.15(practically $400). After several calls to Nordstrom, one lady was nice enough to tell me where it was shipped to(even though in reality, she gave it to me by mistake because they're not supposed to give out that type of information). I filed a police report and gave them all of the information I had.
15+ trips to the bank, police report, phone calls to managers, and they still didn't want to refund me my money.
After SEVERAL hours of arguing with different people over the phone, I got my $400 back, and closed my account 15 minutes after that.
I'll never deal with WaMu ever again.
Wells Fargo has been treating me nicely.

WF ftw! I dont get it though... how is it not your right to request where the bag was shipped to since supposedly "you" were spending "your" money from "your" account? I think Citi would be a better choice for you with all these damn identity fraud shit. But nonetheless, wells fargo is a great bank with great customer service.:bigok:

maybe it was just the branch I was going to, but they were always rude. I think the biggest part was their locations. I never have cash on me, maybe 20 or less, so when I do need to goto the bank WAMU is MIA. BOFA is everywhere so I just stick with them.
I never had a problem with fees with BOFA. The only time I encountered fees was when I was using my debit card in Canada. They would charge me a "exchange rate" but I knew about it before going and was just too lazy to get money out the bank. What fees are you guys getting charged for besides OD?

like ppl have said above. Ask politely, and if all else fails ask for a supervisor and tell them you are going to cancel your account and tell all your relatives to do it as well. They will reverse some of it at least.
