Do it correctly with a fender roller.
It makes
1. Your life easier.
2. The job cleaner
3. It really HARD to fuck up.
A roller can be rented for as cheap as 40 bucks(plus deposit). I have one i rent, or get it somewhere else, makes no difference to me. Just do yourself a favor and use one.

yea use a fender roller. i bought one from eastwood that works great. make sure you use a heat gun so that the paint doesn't crack around the lip of the fender. if you are trying to do a pull as well be careful because with to much of a pull you will get a dent right above the rear fenders. i made this same mistake and the dent is a bitch to fix. there is no way to get around it that i know of. i did about a 2-2.5" pull.

Fender rollers work like shit on the front fenders, but work awesome on the rears. You will need a hammer, a baseball bat or pipe, a heat gun, and it would be nice to have a fender rolling tool. Driftfreaq has one for rent, PM him. I think he may be willing to work out a shipping arrangement.

to get around the dent thing...you need to get yourself a pair of dykes big enough to cut thru the fender lip...make AT LEAST 5 relief cuts in the fender lip...THEN roll and pull your fenders...the relief cuts will allow the metal breathing room to pull a bit
ive done the above to quite a few peoples cars using a fender roller...works like a charm...you just need to work the metal slowly as well...but the relief cuts are the key part in makin the whole thing work

I agree with the fender roller. Do it slowly and carefully and you won't have the dent. However, don't then lean up against your quarters, because you WILL then have a dent.
Just don't keep the fender roller, like some assholes in SoCal do. I lent mine out to a few guys and never got it back from the last guy because he's obviously a piece of shit.
