http://www.schoolunblocker.com/

http://w3proxy.com/

If those dont work, then just google "Free proxy"

Try some, one is bound to work.

Try www.logmein.com (http://www.logmein.com)
I used to use it at my work to remote into my PC at home to browse the web, but it just got blocked recently by our filter.

Yes.

Your company most likely has a content filter controlled by an Internet proxy. Most company machines (laptop/desktop) are locked down tighter than an a Penguin's ass (close to home ay?) and you cant change the Internet properties on your browser.

Which these links provided above are used to help circumvent.

Are you able to change your internet properties? Can you go into connections/LAN settings and remove the proxy or automatic configuration settings? or at least remove the "X' in front of them?

Yes I can. I work in a totally seperate department than the main building so my computer isnt as restricted as others I guess. I think its just the connection thats restricted. Is there a way for them to see if im getting around the filter other that directly monitoring me? I know if i call them if somethings wrong with my computer they can get into my computer from their computer (ie move my mouse and all that stuff). am I taking too big of a risk?

so the question is how much do you value your job? does it pay well enough to take the risk? can you find an equal if not better job?

plus u get that extra bonus for being a resident of alaska = equivalent to 2 monthes of unemployment

meh, I like my job but im not worried about finding work. Just wondering on the chances of them actually knowing whats going on. I highly doubt id get fired though, it wouldnt be a huge deal. A guy here figured out how to download one of those online poker gambling programs and got caught playing poker online all day and all they did was just delete it and told him not to d/l stuff anymore. As long as I dont download stuff i should be ok.

that means you're still going through their proxy, and they have an SMS client on your machine. Try installing opera if you have local admin rights, and make sure it doesnt import any settings. Usually normal out of the box "filter" setups dont have shit for Opera. I dont know why, but they dont. Its usually just a proxy with a blacklist.

Also, if there is an SMS client on your machine, and they can get your IP, they can see what you're doing.

Can you at least RDP to a home machine and browse from there?

start>programs>accessories>communications>remote desktop connection

you'll have to enable the service on the target (home) machine, and then get the ip.

or just google RealVNC

I am a real IT guy
