Hi. I was wondering what the difference is between running a nismo thermostat or no thermostat on a SR20det. Pro and cons Nismo vs no thermostat

for your question here... you want to run a thermostat. your engine needs to run at an optimal temperature, so if your running with no thermostat you run the risk of your engine operating too cold which can cause nasty shit like pistons siezing up, which can also lead to it overheating and cracking the block or sleaves. the thermostat helps regulate the temperature of the coolant flowing from the block to the radiator. what the nismo thermostat does is let it flow at a slightly cooler temperature than your stock. so you can still have a lower temp that's still safe instead of having it too cold or too hot

SR's are pretty decent at staying cool. You might not even need the nismo unit if you daily it and still have the clutch fan. Just get the OEM thermo which is much cheaper, flush the system, fill and bleed accordingly. Yay.
