Hey guys, I've been comparing KTS and HKS and they're going for about the same price right now. My question is, since I'm going to be using my car for mostly grip track events, which would give me a better ride. I've had problems with the KTS being too harsh on the streets before and it seems as thought the HKS won't be able to go as low....

So many decisions... keep the KTS or spend a little more for HKS?! ahhh!!

Thanks y'all

Car is an S13 and using for daily driving and once a month track events.

I've been beating the hell out of KTS coils for 4 years with no problems. Plus if you do have any problems SPL has killer customer service.

4years of daily driving and 2yrs of track on my KTS, hold up good still, try something new, change won't hurt.

The HKS are a better coilover. No question here.

Granted my choice would be placed elsewhere, but out of the two...HKS wins.

Wow seriously?

This is even a comparison?

I mean shit it's HKS, does it get better than that?

There's better suspension out there for sure.

But seriously its HKS.

Just think what you pay for is what you get.

HKS > KTS

if you can't afford it then save up and hunt the HKS.

IMO the design of the HKS coilover is better.
Also heard from ppl running them on its performance.

but the benefit of having KTS is its price
and to me the most important reason its warranty with SPL
taken directly from their site:
We provide a 1 year warranty on all defects.
New replacement shocks (if outside of warranty) $137.50/ea. Swap in new shocks with no downtime and no shipping back and forth to get shocks rebuilt.
Lower brackets (eg. rear brackets to fit Z32 or stock rear knuckle, front brackets to fit S14 knuckle) available separately $95/set
Coilover wrench $20/pair
Shock dust boot $5/ea
Coilover assembly for one corner priced at 1/4 price of new setwhich is pretty damn good considering with an HKS if you wanna get it rebuilt, there is downtime and its more expensive.

but they are both GREAT coilovers.

Another thread.

I would say HKS Hypermax II. I heard those have a great ride.

But a Koni/GC setup would own. You would know that if you did some research. Check it out. Just an option.

Yeah but I don't think SPL will service shocks bought elsewhere. I've had one previous experience with HKS and they were so smooth and track worthy. The KTS can go lower and have the lower bracket fit the z32....
