So yea, I have recently been getting way back into FIFA and reading up on players and reading stats and all this stuff. Of course I have always been a die hard Argentina fan and still am. Recently ive been reading alot on these two bad boys from Portugal.

Christiano Ronaldo

Ricardo Quaresma

Youtube both of these guys, they are seriously the future I was amazed on their skill with the ball and how they make people look like they are dancing.

You guys, there is a game this Wednesday Mexico vs USA, should be pretty good, All I can say as a guy who grew up in Mexico, im happy that they are giving opportunities younger players in the Aztec nation, look for Geovani Dos Santos, Guardado and Vela, a whole lot more kids on their way too, I never thought I could say this, but it might actually be possible to see mexico win a world cup, (besides the sub-17 world cup)

O yea, and those two guys up there, well they are freaks of nature, nuff said.

España is good Fernando Torres and Raul. I dont think Raul is allowed to play another World Cup. Dont ever and I mean ever underestimate Argentina lol

Hmm...how's that been going lately? 0-6-1 this millenium? Maybe this time they'll win so they can finally shake hands with the other team?

Then that mess Sanchez did last year trying to kill Eddie Johnson? He was a piece of trash before, but it was obvious to everyone after that.

I'd love to see some class from that organization this meeting.

Ronaldo is definitely shutting a lot of critics up this year. I thought Ferguson sticking up for him was going to be a terrible move but that's why I'm not a manager. Haha. I think Kaka is the best in the world, but Ronaldo is absolutely amazing right now.

My team is Arsenal, so I'm pretty happy right now. Who knew getting rid of the best player in the league would help so much? :D

I only watch the world cup, thats about it.

I lived in Italy when Baggio put one over the net on the penalty shot and Brazil won.

I loved it when France went as far as headbutting to try and oust us last year.

I hate watching any soccer other than the world cup. I hate playing soccer too.

Lol, another soccer thread. Hope this one lasts.
Soccer is my first love and been around it since I was in diapers. Dad even played briefly in the Guatemala first division so it's in my DNA.
My clubs are: Boca Jrs from Argentina, Barca from La Liga, Arsenal from the EPL and the L.A Galaxy since I gotta support the local team.

Christiano Ronaldo is a talent and it's good that he's whining and crying less and less nowadays. Kaka it's still a better overall player though since he is one the architects of AC Milan's recent success.

Beckham signing by the Galaxy was a brilliant marketing move. Soccer wise he brings very little to the team. I'm more excited about Carlos Ruiz returning.

US vs Mexico game tomorrow night probably won't really tell much since it's just a friendly. Pressure is on Mexico since they've been getting owned by us for a while now and Sanchez needs to back some of the shit he loves talking. Comments about poor losers and lack of class are dead on. Bradley is probably going to use the game to cap a few more young players.

Riquelme is god.

Hmm... hard to say, I think that it has to do with his style of play. He isn't fast or flashy but rather tends to pause the game, protect the ball and make excellent decisions. Very different from a Maradonna or Messi that are fast and flashy and take on players at will. So when utitlized to his strenghts properly he can be a match turning type of player. I'm still bummed that Barca let go of him.

He didn't leave, Rikkard (sp?) didn't care much for him and with Deco, Iniesta and Ronaldinho lent him to Villareal for a season or two. He was officially transfered and then had that weird fallout with the club and now is back with Boca. Even when he was in limbo in Villareal, he was Argentina's best player in the Copa America and last few World Cup qualifiers. But yeah, his demeanor off the ball is usually, and rightly so I think, what his detractors criticize.

US vs Mexico - just what I expected from a heated friendly: lots of sloppy play and some gnarly challenges.

yea USA fouled like a billion times. Mexico was playing well. I feel like they are trying to play more of a one touch Argentinian style which could work to their advantage.

Yeah, sloppy tackles from the US but not as vicious as a few of the Mexican fouls. That late challenge on Howard for example.

Still don't see how that third US goal was disallowed. But US play in the second half was just absent, tried a few tactical changes that just didn't pay off.
But I'm still pleased from what I saw, Mexico brought an almost full strenght squad while Bradley keeps bleeding young players.

Bati-gol reminds me of Pele: opportunistic goal scorer with awesome balance that could finish with either leg outside the area. Wonder where he is now?

dude mexico is always in a big trouble vs usa... u saw the game? usa only had 3 aproches to shoot, one was obious a offside, the problem with mexico is than everybody is too short, and usa saw that, if they play by air they have a easy win, that is why when they aproach is easy to win the ball, was a good game i think =P at least this time mexico dong get angry like always and start making fights ^_^

Sounds about right, last I heard Batistuta had gone to the middle east. Lots of has-beens usually take that route (or come to the MLS...Beckham... cough... cough), cash in their fame at smaller clubs in lesser leagues.

Talk about future: Messi, Giovanni, and Bojan... I'd say Barca's future looks promising.

Well i am not going to say that Liverpool v's Inter was a fantastic game to watch if anything it was a bad game the referee was terrible, Materazzi should never have been sent off, but I am glad that we are going back to the San siro with a 2-0 lead as it is better than i was expecting.

i'm all for inter milan, but friggin' materazzi is a bitch....

he just beginning to play again after a long recovery and still have the same attitude....

i couldn't take that Torres broke his back with the dribbling skill, so he had to grab him like a lil' bitch....

if he shut the fuck up, then he wouldn't get his second yellow too....

bitch ass materazzi......:bash: :bash: :bash:

this bitch is gonna cost inter milan the Champion League....

I would be stabbed by my Argentinian friends if I didn't root for Argentina. Messi and Riquelme!!! I try and get into it, but I mainly watch when my friends do, haha.

WOOOOOOOO! Is anyone watching the US - Poland Match?

Lucky for me I got to catch the first half while on my lunch break.. so I caught the two set pieces with Donanvan to Bocanegra and Onyewu..

Im VERY happy with the level of play that we are showing.. espcially midfield with Bradley. The passing is getting spot on, the crosses are a little off.. but our overall play has stepped up SO much these past few games.

It really sucked have to come back to work after watching the first half with those two goals, my adrenaline is still pumping! I threw my head phones off and jumped up in my cubical as my boss walked by, looking at me with my hands pumping up in the air.. my quite celabration.. lol

they dont need to run laps around them, the young guys infact run laps around the skillful experienced players...watch the match Real played against MLS allstar team about 4 years back in LA...and pay attention what Zidane did throughout the game...maybe a season or two before he quit...the guy played and never lost the ball or made a bad pass till the 70' min...dont think he even broke a sweat
