hi i was wondering if a ka sohc fuel pump feeding a redtop sr with stock injectors is doing any harm to the motor. should i upgrade to a 255lph pump or is it ok?

your kinda ok with the stock one, just dont raise the boost without a walbro.
unless you pump is old as hell and starting to give you problems ne ways. then change it out.

yeah i've always heard anything above stock boost (or 10psi with some people..) change out the pump for a higher flow unit.

you can get by for now for sure 10psi boost or less.
but I would suggest the first new part you buy is a fuel pump

Do it as soon as you have the money. Better sooner than later.

most people upgrade it when doing a sr swap, so when ya get the extra cash id pick one up, better to be safe than sorry :)

z32 TT fuel pump is supposedly more reliable than a walboro. I went with the z32 TT

recomend you upgrade the fuel pump...dont stick with the stock one...if planning on raising boost...and i dotn know if its happen to anyone...but i was running a stock sohc pump, ran out of gas and the pump got stuck
so UPGRADE. LOL.
u can afford 2K engine, but can't afford $85 fuel pump????

well i used up a good chunk on sr and when i was gonna do sum upgrades shit started goin wrong. u kno old cars start to break down. especially when u r runnin stock suspension. i would have dpne suspension first but my stock motor was about to die.

New? SURE!!! Used? You'd really trust an old pump? Its like every other ass clown here who thinks R32 GTR pumps are gods send to Silvias. Really? You wanna use a potentially 17-18 yr old pump? :tweak:
Get a walbro, how often do you hear them fail?

ok noob question here but i bought an s13 with an sr in it already. everything was completely stock except for the swap. not even a boost gauge. im starting to wonder if i even have a better fuel pump. so if take the fuel pump out will it say walbro on it somewhere? or how can i tell its been unpgraded?

im sorry, but whoever did the conversion shouldve put a better fuel pump in there, even with running stock boost, etc. ive seen too many people lean out within a few days of the swap.
