I am sure this has been asked a million times but I want a set up that is affordable and handles well at the track.

I am currently looking at the KYB AGX adjustable or the Tockico HPs w/ Eibach ProKits. Will I be over damping the springs w/ this setup considering the Prokits aren't that stiff will I still need to get sway bars to compensate for body roll. FYI I can't afford coilovers

I really need help and I am looking to purchace fairly soon....as soon as my wife gets her track car

If I wasn't going with the JIC's I was going to get Koni yellows with Ground controls. you can get custom spring rates too. I hear the Koni's work really well on the track too. Only problem is you can adjust the dampening on the rears without removing them. but plenty of people have them so I'm sure you could find out what works for others, and try that.

btw- I got those FLT-A2's for 1475 shipped...

I got that setup (AGX/ProKits) w/ f/r adj. Whiteline sway bars right now. Good street setup but ProKits aren't that great for serious competition. I just ordered some kg/mm S21 Supersports...probably give a review after the first autox with them.

You bastard ::OH how the envy in flowing::

What about the Tokico blues w/ sportlines. I want to avoid the absurdly slamed look though

I'm thinking of going with Suspension Techniques for mine... they're linear rate, so even though the spring rates are pretty close to the ProKits at their limit they should be a lot firmer below the limit and give the car a lot more roll stiffness than a progressive spring or a soft stock spring. They're cheap too. Less than $200 for the set.

The HICAS cars already have pretty big sway bars, so, maybe leave them, but upgrade the end link bushings? $20 will do both ends.

If you want back for the buck, GroundControls and AGXs are the way to go. AGXs can usually hold a 450 lbs spring safely - and I don't think you'd really want to go over that for a mixed use car. The hard part is getting rates that compliment the car and a sufficiently long spring. (the "kits" are usually too short and too soft for real use). I'm hoping bbp jumps in - as he has GCs and knows a bit about rates - even if for s14's. Otherwise, I'd tend to rip-off the JDM coil rates... or at least their ratios F to R.

Note - GC's are linear and will punish you on a bit more on the streets, but I used to run 375/450 rates in a Civic and I can still hold my bladder.

IMO, the blues aren't stiff enough for that low of a drop. I've heard they're good with prokits, but sportlines is too much. They aren't stiff enough for my springs (lowered about the same as sportlines)

Good lord! that's an amazing price! I paid more than that and picked them up myself!
