I'm looking for coilovers for my s14. I was going to go with KTS from SPL, or maybe stance. How do these compare to those?
I know they are not dampening adjustable however. Also I saw on wiki they have 6k/4k springs for s14, and I usually see 8k/6k.
This is my daily driver, but I autocross and want to start weekend road racing soon. Any input appreciated.

tanabe is really good stuff, but the S-OC's arent really geared toward racing.
i like stance.

im also thinkin about the tanabe coilovers. its a really good coilover for a cheap price. the ride hieght is adjustable which is good for a daily driver track car. Tanabe is well trusted and i havent heard any complaints.
im not to familiar with the KTS coilovers, but i can say tht tanabe is great becuz if something breaks on the coilover tanabe sells replacement parts and u dont have to buy new coilovers.

Honestly, just go for the tein super drifts. great tech support. I've seen people crash and the coilovers where okay. $100 to rebuild each in Downey CA. Or Apexi coilovers. They charge $148ish to rebuild their coilovers in pair.

I was also wondering about those tanabe's. i know there the lower end of the spectrum but wouldnt they be a good quality set of coilovers to learn with and get used to the feel of a stiffer ride?

I have the tanabe pro-soc type II on my s13.
Lowered all the way down, the front will not tuck, there's about a 1/4" or so gap in the front with a 225/40-18. If you remove one of the collars, you'll eliminate the 1/4" gap.
The rear (with both collars) will tuck most of the sidewall on a 245/40-18.
I bought tein upper mounts (tanabe pro-soc type II does not come with upper mounts) and everything works together in perfect harmony.
However, I haven't ridden on them yet. My car is almost complete...been a project car for 2.5 years.
I paid $750 for the tanabes and $250 for the tein upper mounts (front & rear).
Now-a-days, for $1k, there are plenty of options out there that include the upper mounts and ride adjustability.
