E brake trouble

MY e brake keeps locking up. the e brake didnt initialize until after 8 clicks so i adjusted it to about four to five clicks. But now hen i release the e brake the chord doesnt go back in so the brakes stay locked. I need help real bad because it is not fun. The chord goes in if i push it in but wont retract by itself. thanks

lossen it up. You have it to tight.

Take off your center console. You can see the nut and the cable if you pull the boot up slightly.

Turn the locknut to loosen. You need to back it off to where the nut is barely not touching at the bottom. Any closer and the brakes won't release. Any further apart and it won't lock at the top.
