Alright, the S13 is registering zero compression on two of the cylinders. I need to get something reliable fast. Does anyone have any recommendations for good local (SOCAL) dealerships that specialize in crapholio credit. I made a lot of bad decisions when I was younger and in the army and fucked myself. Need to start somewhere. Are there any good honest places you guys recommend?

so it wont ruin his credit further, if you already have bad credit why risk more damage by getting stuck w. payments

Don't get an auto loan. There's nothing worse you can do than to get a loan on something that's gonna depreciate in value, especially when your credit is fucked up.

Best Idea yet. fuck.

buy a shitty cheap ass civic.

it will run, get you from here to there, and might actually be decent on mpg.

haha I have a beater civic hatch. It runs rich and I smell fuel from time to time and it still gives me 30 mpg! I'm assuming if I tune it up and replace some things, I can get more mpg. Car has no tach, when I brake hard, turn onto a n onramp or accelerate, the gas guage would go down LOL. Love it!

try USAA, they offered me either $25 or 40K (i forget) sight unseen when i commissioned. they will certainly hook you up with a few grand. rates are good too. actually i think it was both, $40K for a car and $25K unsecured.

getting a car loan and making payments will improve your credit rating, that's assuming you actually make the payments. there should be some sort of financial help center on base. i know the Air Force has one, i bet the Army does too. they should have someone to talk to that can really help you out.

you could also try a credit union, they're a great way to go to get a car loan, though i don't know how they figure credit rating into the approval process. a credit union will basically open an account for you that you can put into a negative balance. you just give them money to bring the balance to zero. there's interest involved but it's pretty low. rates are probably like 3-9%

don't go to one of those bad credit specialized dealers, they'll ream you on interest, like 25%. and their cars are shitty because they buy the cheap shit at auctions.

because........?

Because they are going to rape every orifice in your body with a 23.9% for 72+ months. Get a cheap used civic or something reliable (who cares if it isn't pretty). Dealerships, payday loans, and "bad credit ok" dealerships are not your friends and are designed to keep you in debt. For someone in your position I would not recommend car payments.

dude, the last thing you want to do is go to a shady ass place like that. buy something cheap, with cash. if i was in a tough situation, the LAST thing i would want is to owe more people more money. fuck that noise.

I think you should try to sell your car/ part it out or whatever and then look into buying a car with the money you make. But yeah, don't get in further credit trouble. I mean, oweing money is not cool. If you can't get a civic, get a Yugo or Ford Fiesta. You'll save tons of money on gas boy!
