Ok I relocated my battery to the trunk via a 2 gauge wire i bought. Everything was going well untill the other day the car died while I was drving. It would start after I jumped it but died minuets later. I thought it was a bad ground so I regrounded the engine and the battery. The battery to the hole in the trunk where the spare sits and the engine to the strut at the top. It still keeps dying. Im at a lose at this point. The only other thing I can think that it might be is my okie rigged job to the front power cable. I took the stock cable and sodered the 2 gauge cable to the stock positive cable (becuse I had to leave the two wire connectors on it). I didnt think that was it cause the car shouldnt start then. Any input is appreciated.

Lets rule out a bad alternator.  Goto pep boys and get yourself a multimeter (try to get yourself a digital one, the cheap speed-o ones are crap).  Jump the car, test at the battery what your getting.  If your getting 10V or less you got yourself a bad alternator, cuz you are only reading battery power.  If your getting roughly 12V idle 13.2-.5 running your alternator is charging.

Not to mention that is one VERY expensive part on a 240!

Also, what kind of battery do you have just out of curiousity?

What's up,
Check your engine control fuse in the engine fuse box.  If that fuse is popped, your battery won't charge.  Also what type of ECU is in your car?  Stock or aftermarket?  I have a MINES ECU in my car and the engine control fuse kept popping.  It's an 10 amp fuse.  After popping those fuses for a day and a half, the person who put my motor in said that the ECU may draw a higher amperage so I put in a higher fuse in and the car runs fine and this was a half a year ago.  Check that and get back.

does anyone else hate the 80Amp Alternator the stock 240sx has?
after i changed mine,... it is fine but sometimes i do notice that the lights do dim a little.....
it is my 200Watt amp? or is the alternator is just crappy?
plus i do have a Optima battery
