start things off i did my re-search on zilvia about clicking noise coming out of ka motors clicking noise only after initial startup (the car is already running)

my problem is when i first start the car 2 outcomes:
1. my cars starts up like a champ and no problems
2. turn the key to start position car dosent start but a fast @ss clicking noise is produced near the front of car passenger side.

i have 1 suspect in mind but cant really pin point it out on the MT models there is a shift-interlock relay which is located near the battery my assumption is that it is the source of my problem relay's produced a clicking noise when energized so is it safe to say that my relay is going bad. BTW my battery is brand new just got it yeaterday but had this problem even with the old battery in it

any input will help like i said its not a big deal cause the car starts but i just want clarification

Have you check the wires on the starter?

i havent looked at a 240 in a while but i recall there is a blue relay near the battery area that does the click. Have someone try to make it do that clicking sound, and you should see the relay flash inside..

it might me the timing chain tensioners or whatever they are called. they rattle as the engine idle's when they are loose.

check your battery ground terminal if its loose at all, if you cannot pick up the battery with it or the + terminal it is not tight enough, clean them and put them back on real tight then you should never have the problem again. the clicking is the relay not getting enough power just like when you have a dead battery also check your alternator connections
