If you do pop open your fuel tank. Be sure to get a new Fuel Tank O ring from Nissan. They tend to get bigger if you open it and then you're car cabin will smell like fuel. It's only a few bucks.

if your cheap and cant fit the old one back in, cut it and adjust accordingly.

this same damn thing just happened to me. i just pulled the whole fuel pump assembly out and messed with it a little. once i put it back in it worked fine. there is a huge baffle in the gas tanks that really sucks. it sways back and forth sometimes and i think that it fell on top of my floater and caused it to read empty. also as previously mentioned be sure to get that o-ring, i didnt know that i needed one and my car smelled like fuel for about 2 weeks until i was able to get a new o-ring. damn japanese holidays!

if it was working before then you probably messed up the floater arm thingy. you have to get a new o ring thingy and get a working sending unit to fix it. it you are too lazy/cheap then just fill it up all the time and know that by the time you hit 200 miles you have to fill up. thats what i did for a while until i got around to fixing it.

Yeah that's what I have been doing. Fill it all the way up. Reset my miles and then fill er up at about 200!
