replaced rear diff and axles. tried to zap the two bolts holding rear diff,
one bolt cross threaded, one fine
what options do i have inregards to the cross threaded bolt,
running out of ideas.

cross thread better then no thread?
try to re-thread it

rethread it with a tape & dye set

clean it out with brakekleen and then retap it (i usually use antiseize when i tap stuff)

a "tap and die" set might be better.
which bolts are we talking about, front or rear?

i think they are talking about the studs on the back cover? i would guess that you could replace the stud possibly?

or replace the whole backing would be easier is thats what he is talking about
but i think he is referring to the 2 bolts closest to the driveshaft

correct the two bolts closest to the drive shaft that hold the diff up
we will try the tap and die this weekend, hopefully it works.

Tap and die, or swap in another subframe.

Tap, replace, or you could use a helicoil.

Just use a tap with cutting oil. Do not use antiseize to try and cut threads.
Also try to use antiseize on all bolts on your car. It will most likely prevent this from happening.
