Can you guys tell me how good of an idea is getting a SR20DE and tubroing that instead of getting a SR20DET??
I think i read somewhere that the NA has a higher compression?
Also to hook a tubro on you would have to drill some holes??
Can anyone veryify this?

Oil line to the turbo can be ran from oil filter sandwich adaptor, so you don't have to drill a hole in the block. Maybe for the return line you'll need a hole. And yes, they do have higher compression.
And BTW, welcome to Zilvia. Introduce yourself first next time you join a forum. Common cortesy.:)

or save money, time, and effort and get a motor built for turbo.

Unless you can get the sr20de for way cheaper than an sr20det....
I suggest you just go with the sr20det for any issues such as
the money spent into making it turbo, reliability,
more work than its worth, and the list goes on...
de's dont have the same internals. that might tell you something.

if you have low power goals it would work. and it would even have more power off boost and spool quicker so it would drive better at low boost levels.
but the lack of piston oil squirters, higher compression, and different internals make it less robust and unable to handle high power levels.

Well considering you can get an sr for like 1500
lets do math
good condition turbo - 150
Manifold - 50
Elbow - 20
turbo lines - 50
Injectors - 75
good ecu tune - 150
smic - 50
leaves you with finding a N/A sr for 950, trans and all.
Also, no forged internals....
so it seems kinda pointless to me.
However, I was considering getting a de for my dd. That would be good on gas milage
but a de
to go det
is kinda dumb.
Let nissan engineers take care of turbo'ing that motor
and just get the det
