So yeah, I've changed the thermostat and radiator because they needed to be replaced. Auxiliary fan was also replaced because it was not working. Of course, the car was over heating because of all these parts going bad, but now after a few weeks (3) the car starting to over heat again. The system was rid of all air bubbles when I changed the radiator, so I don't think there are any bubbles in the system. Its too cold to even pop the hood and check again, but I figure I ask on here if any one has had the same problem, if and only if you've owned an E39 and what you did to fix the problem. Out of all mechanical problems this is what I hate the most, an overheating machine. :-/

just guessing, but possibly your water pump? as the radiator and thermostat were replaced... also, you could check to see if the thermostat was put in correctly.

I did it myself, so I know it was done right. :rawk: Working on these type of cars is a bitch! The dealer wants $240 just to diagnose. the hell with that. Lexus is so much cheaper $59. :)

yeah, I ran the heater and did everything I needed to do to bleed the system. I can check the cap just to see. I just hope is not the water pump or something else too complicated. The weather sucks right now and I hate working unconfortable.
