Does anybody know if any USDM Nissan or infiniti cars came with the RWD Sr20DE?
Im pretty sure they are only in Japan, but it doesnt hurt to ask.

Nope.
SR = B-chassis, which was FWD
The only RWD Nissans we got are the S and Z chassis; Infiniti had the new G, old M and J, and Q
none of them had the SR

Yeah, here in the states we only had the FWD SR. I always wanted to see someone here in the states put an SR20DE from an NA Silvia in a 240. Just to be different, that is.

Buddy of mine put an sr20de out of jdm s14 in his s13 coupe. Had the vvt I believe as well. it was kinda cool, different that's for sure.

no evidence with this comment, but i would think not, since they had no egr system on the motor.
And yes this is thats stock, just the testpipeback took my torque away

Interesting, thought numbers were going to be lower than that, not that bad though.

there is an EGR system on both the SR20de and SR20det motors...however theyre commonly removed on most motorsets before you get them...99% of the time people dont run them due to the EGR circ pipe hits the steering rack and has to be rerouted if you want to keep it

a while back some one did a NA SR with tomei kit and itb's i forgot what magazine it was in, but it was blue rhd and s13 silvia.
it put out like 220 and reved till 8.5 it wasn't bad but could of been done with a KA for allot cheaper.

In stock form the S14 SR20DE is rated at 165PS, how the hell are you almost pulling that to the rear wheels with only a custom exhaust? Something doesn't add up.

The way it looks the motor @ crank has to be ~180ish
When we first put this on the dyno we were all figuring about 140 ish thinking its stock "crank" 160.
I can say is my motor is completly stock bought from j-hot imports, and when come time to dyno tune it pulled 160 1st run, 163 2nd run and 162.2 on the last.

http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s220/rps13nut/CIMG0041.jpg
When they rate the stock sr20's from the sentra and g20's is that crank or rear wheel?
If its real wheel then this number is about right, givin the s14/15 srde has higher compression, and the nvcs.
Again can't backup completly what i am saying right now cause i have not found this info on the net yet.
Only thing i can give you are my numbers.
I did find the autech specs for you though.

I will put in a sard torque valve controller soon to bring my torque back up I'll have to make that video and show you the numbers

I even went to youtube to try and find a s14 srde dyno'ed to see if my numbers were correct for me, the only one i could find was this one when he stated it was 100kw (134hp). not even close to my motor. so I have no reference to prove the numbers, only the dyno to come when adding my torque converter control valve.

sorry for all the links but I have been searching to see what I should be making and not comming up w/much than my numbers as shown.

so yah...RWD SR20de, smog legal in US with the use of EGR valve or not?? ;)
might be a worthy replacement to that truck motor if it is smog legal (especially the S14/S15 SR20de motors..VVL > KA NON VVL any day heheh)
DreamN

it couldn't be legal seeing as it never came stateside.

^therefore it wasn't legal. FWD and RWD SR20s are different engines.

the sr20de was in trucks too
if you want vvl and legal swap in a QR25DE, those easily produce 200 wheel horse power, and yes they were available in RWD format.
or shit..... VH45DE or VH41DE or VQ30DE or VQ35DE all those are legal... and readily available as rwd so why even bother trying to get an NA SR20 that is going to be slower than a KA???
How well do the VVL Sr20DE's respond to turbo'ing?
Same internals or different?

bottom ends are different...no forged pistons/rods...also...ignition is different...SR20de uses a distributor (so no coilpacks/ignitor chip)...i believe the compression is also quite a bit higher on the bottom end compared to a SR20det
S14/S15 SR20det motors come with VVL on the intake cam to help with low and mid range boost lag...i believe the S14 SR was the first SR to receive VVL...afterwords the FWD/AWD SRs followed suit (as well as RB series motors)
please correct me if im wrong =)

You're wrong.
VVL = Variable Valve Lift, aka Nissan's version of VTEC.
What you were talking about was the VVT, which is Variabl Valve Timing, in which case, the first US bound car that had it was the VG30 on the Z32s.

rwd SR20DE nonturbo is a great motor and if you upgrade it to DET coilpakc setups it can be amazing as a n/a powerplant, all aluminum, etc. just get a nice exhaust manifold on that thing please! too bad most of the nice JDM nonturbo exhaust manifolds will not fit with the usdm lhd steering setup. :(

Actually, the B13 Sentra SE-R's were RWD. I am almost positive it is usdm, my cousin had one back in the day. The VIN did not start with a "J" so I am almost 100% certain it is USDM. Another piece of evidence, possibly reassuring, is that it did not have a transaxle and the engine ran the length of the car, which is a big hint for RWD. just my input.

lol...ummm...sentras and sentra SE-Rs have ALWAYS been FWD in the US...the sunnny was available in an AWD configuration...but it still featured a transversly mounted engine (meaning a FWD configuration)

If you managed to get a USDM FWD SR and reused all of the stock components and somehow turned it 90* to become RWD, I believe that this is no longer an "approved configuration" according to the EPA.
Can someone check me on that?

Shut up with this already.
truck motor
This too.
All this KA vs SR animosity is retarded.
I can tell you reasons that both motors are weak and how they're both awesome.
Quick case in point -
Nssan Serena and Nissan Largo.
Both powered by RWD versions of KA24 and SR20.
Both MINIVANS.
KA vs. SR is a moot argument. Every engine has potential.

nope, if you read more info about the clean air act it doesn't mention anything about swaping a fwd engine into a rwd plaftform, as long as your 'not knowingly adversley effecting the emissions'
