Well this will be kinda long. Today as I am coming home from work i see an someone driving slow as hell. I pass them up look over see its an elderly lady with a flat tire. so i pass her up and keep checking the rearveiw to see whats going on this lady just keeps driving on. so I finally see her turn in and i turn as well and make my way back to her. So i ask her if shes aware her tire is completely shredded to hell, and she wasnt aware of what exactly went wrong. So I tell her she should have a spare in the trunk. The car was a brand new buick park ave with the window stickers in the back seat. so i jack up her car take the shreded tire and bent up rim off put the spare on. I'm asking her if shes ok to drive and knows how to get home. She had no idea where she was and said she made a wrong turn somewhere and had just been driving. So I tell her that we can go to the mcdonalds that we were by to call someone at home. So she said we could call her husband. Then i see her walking towards another parked car in the lot we were in and open the door (dont ask me why the door was open) and shes getting in. I yell over to her and let her know shes getting in the wrong car. At this point im thinking to myself if this lady is scared disillusuional or what?! so then she starts walking away and is stumbling around. So i run up to help her and let her know the mcdonalds is walking distance and help her over the curbs and road bumps and what not thru the parking lot. So she calls her husband (with my change ) i didnt want anyone to think something with a young kid and a lady reaching in her purse. So shes talking to her husband and explaining the situation. Her husband has no idea where she is and hands me the phone to explain or try to get the directions. Now i am all the way in the nw burbs and this lady lives on the souutttttttthhhhhhhhhhh sideeeeeeee of chicago. I had no idea how to get her where she was going so i tryed asking her what highway she would need to take, the lady did not know. So i offer to take her to my house to get the directions off of randmcnally.com. I offered her some water to calm her nerves a little and got the directions and told her i would take her up to the highway on ramp to be on her way.
Sooooo off we go, First round.......
I signal for her to enter ther on ramp and she keeps following me. ok so we turn into a hotel lot and i explain to her what she needs to do and that i will not take the highway with her, let her know to get .40 cents out for the toll booth, and to keep those instructions i gave her handy.
Round 2
We try again this time she keep[s following me so i signal for her to turn into a parking lot and she keeps on going almost hitting another car. so i had to speed up to catch up to her because this lady would have been completely f*cked if i didnt help her home.some way. so i finally catch up to her and she reliezes that im flaggin her down so we turn around again. I explain to her again whats going to happen and that i will signal her on to the ramp and blah blah blah. She understands (or at least thats what she tells me) so we go at it again.....
Round 3
She missed the on ramp a 3rd time, now im thinking what did i get myself into! But it was getting kind of funny. so i turn around get in another parking lot explain to her what we're going to do and she gives me the go ahead. so I turn onto the street and I look to see where she is and low and behold shes in the wrong lane driving straight into oncomming traffic with no stop! so i speed up hit my emergency lights and stop traffic (they were high beaming and beeping like crazy) I don't know what was going thru this ladies head at the time! so i guide her into the right lane and get that out of the way. I tell her maybe we should call the police to have them escort her or do whatever they can do to help her get home safely. So we enter the mobil station and I make the call explain the situation.
Cops arrive i explain to them what had happened what almost happened and etc. The cop was pretty cool and said if he had an award he would have givin me one . so i take off finally relieved of the situation hungry and tired, and i notice im on the wrong street! all the confusion she made rubbed off on me so i head back the way to get on my street whern i see the cops stil lthere and a taxi there. So i just wanted to make sure everything was ok with the lady. The officer said she almost backed into the gas staion and almost hit him when he said he wouldnt risk it. Then he said a semi truck pulled over and let him know about her driving in the wrong lane. So im telling the cop the whole ordeal and where laughing in a relieved way at her expense and shes off in the taxi with a huge bill on her hands but at least she will be safe along with other people on the road.

Lesson learned don't help the elderly! lol j/p.
But they seriously need to make driving tests alot more strict for senior citizens to avoid things like this, itsa just as dangerous as street ricing.
