Ok so here's te problem that as been a huge pain in the ass...

About 6 monts ago i bought a 98 S14 SE, the man who sell me the car was a fucking pig, he never put some maintenance on the car, so the car was in some way abandon, i've been working on every little thing thas has come out but there's one thing i can solve...
When i made the first oil change, spark plugs, filters and bla blah blah i try to clean the intake with some Carbu clean, and here's when my nightmare begins... At the time i was cleaning i've already know that the car will be at a higher RPM's for some days, but the thing was they never wnet down, so i try to adjust the IACV but nothing happen, the car is about 1500 RPM all day long no matter how the weather is or the temperature of engine...
I've already search for vacuums but i've found nothing, try to clean it again and nothing happens, and the rare of this is that the screw of the IACV is all the way close to try to reduce idle, but olnly went down to about 1000 and 1250 ...
Hoppefully one of this days i'm gona take out the intake manifold to clean EGR an IACV... One thing i was thinkin it's maybe the valve from the IAC is stick...
Thanks for looking

PS: the car has 80 k miles

Maybe they advanced the timing because it had poor idle and after you cleaned it, it became normal and you need to adjust the timing back??????? Just food for thought

something to check is the air regulator. Allows additional air into the intake manifold for cold start. If it is unplugged for whatever reason, it will always idle up to around that area, or if it is malfunctioning, this may also happen. On the ka, the actual regulator can be seen if you look into the manifold, at around the 3-4th runners. The plug can be accessed out the back (in the same area as the iacv and aac plugs). Also, make sure your following the correct procedure for setting your idle (according to the fsm).

Just a few ideas for ya

IAA air regulator. When the unit dies on a KA, the bypass air into the plenum isn't regulated. Idle will sit at a 1200-1400 unmanaged.

Remove and inspect it, clean or replace as required.

take off the iavc. or juss back the screw all the way out all the way out and spray your carb cleaner in there. it should also have a o ring if i remember correctly, and then take off the larger hose thats on your intake but not the valve cover hose.
and spray your carb cleaner in there.

see if that helps.
your sh!t is gunked up!
then run a grip of seafoam.

if that doesnt help then tps, timing,

IACV has nothing to do with the problem. It's the IAA.
