i would tell you not to waste your money on the clip if your gonna be replacing the parts that you buy a clip for anyway. thats what i did and if i were gonna do it again i would not buy the clip.

I can get the redtop full clip for 1500...which I think is a pretty good deal...I'll have to do the installing but it shouldnt be much of a problem...**I hope there is SoCal (northridge/chatsworth/sylmar/calabasas/woodland & granada hills) board members who would like to lend an extra hand when the time comes**

I could also eBay off the extra parts too...

Umm... you should ask whats wrong with the clip before plinking 1500 down. Thats way low for an entire clip.

I was gonna go w/ the clips from srswap.com but then I read that new SCC article and was like woah really?

Did you just read the article or have you actually talked to venus-auto? AFAIK that price is just for SCC and you should be looking more along the lines of spending $3k. Someone back me up here.

only thing I can say is I have heard a lot of things about Venus auto and not a lot thats been good.
It remains to be seen if they are reputable. Until I talk to someone who has actually gone to their place of business seen the condition of their clips and the mileage its really hard to say.
They could be selling a lot of extremely high mileage stuff. i.e. why its so cheap.
Of course SCC used them they gave them an extremely low price. Of course Soken has been used by magazines as well for SR installs.
I have been there. They have compression tested and test run cut motors with ecu and partial harness. Of course with a cut motor you are going to be buying externals you need so a clip is not a bad way to go

I made a post about venus a month ago. I guess they only sell in bulk to other shops, they do not deal with individuals.

no, I haven't been there, a friend of mine sent me the link to their webpage...What a shame too.

I think it's really bad SCC gets all those super low prices then we think thats the actual retail price...there should be a sidebar on that. I was like waiiiiit this seems weird.

I guess I left the usual mantra: "If its to good to be true...it is"

Venus does a lot of the importing for the entire country. The shops get all the good stuff. If you buy direct from Venus you will get the stuff the shops don't want so make your own conclusions. That doesn't mean it will necessarily be crap but will have a higher chanse of being a higher milage engine.
