Ok I bought new rotors to fit my 90 240sx with the 300zx front brake setup. Somehow the one piston seized and won't go back down. Is there any way to get it free so I can press it down? Thanks in advance.

get a rebuild kit to rebuild it. thats the only way you'll have the piston move in and out to work normally again.

yea u can buy a tool that uses the brake pads to force the piston back in.

Z-brakes aren't slide caliper type, so, that tool won't be of much use in this case.

If I get a rebuild kit it will fix everything? I didn't check the other side but the one side is really annoying and the pistons are stickish. Like when I gave it a little pressure without the rotor only one moved? odd....

Seized as in you're having a hard time pushing in the pistons so that the caliper will fit the rotor again?
Pop open your BMC lid to relieve the the hydrolic pressure and use one of those $20 brake tools from an auto parts store.

you wouldn't be able to press it in by hand anyways. use a C-clamp to force it back in. a regular one won't do it because the 300zx caliper is fixed, so you'll have to find one that can slide in to the small gap where the rotor normally goes.

OR you can open the bleeder valve, THEN try to press by hand, or use some type of lever to force it back in. but i agree with the above, just rebuild it. you can use compressed air to pope em all out and put on new rubber seals.

I got it back in. For now, I've got some rebuilt calipers coming in that should work. What is the pedal pressure supposed to be like for stock 240 brakes on the back and 300z in the front. Originally it was really stiff (half way down stopped the car) which is maybe because the back caliper was broken and I just didn't notice. Now it's a lot smoother and less stiff? I bled all the breaks and nothing seems to be leaking anymore. I'll try to put the new calipers on when they come in. It's driving ok now though. No vibration or anything. There isn't any fade or anything like I don't have to pump it to get pressure it just seems not as grabby as it was.
