Everytime it rains...my trunk (where the spare tires go) gets flooded with water. I have a 97 240sx. Does anyone else gets this problem. I still can't figure out how the water gets in there. You guys think it's because I changed my rear bumper to an aftermarket rear bumper? Anyone has any idea how to fix this? Thanks for the help.

I don't know if this will apply to your car, b/c I bought my car after it had been in an accident. Long story... anyways what I did to see if there was any leaks was sit in the trunk and close it... then i had my sister shine a flashlight around the openings and made sure that the trunk was watersealing all the way around. Apparently, for me, there was a gap at the front-most area of the trunk, I could see the light shining through. There may be an adjustment, but for now, I bought some bulb-type weatherstripping and applied it to the trunk lid so it helped seal better.

I have the same problem, i have a 93 SE Fastback. The other day i was cleaning out my trunk and took out the spare tire, when i lifted the darn thing my trunk was just filled with water, it had been rainning for a couple of days.. I look and looked and can't seem to find where it is coming from. I had also not driven the car for a couple of days so i know it is not coming from below.

I think the water is coming from below my car because the trunk carpet is dry as hell or maybe is coming the sides. But, how the hell water can come from below the car. This problem is causing my car to rust. Need solution fast.

if you say that water is coming from the bottom of your car, shouldn't the water went out from where it come from instead ? i mean there is no way water can stay in your trunk if there is a hole in the bottom. your best bet is try that flash light thinggy and see if it works for you.

on the s14, try looking at the 4 holes in the very bottom middle where the spare tire mounts. The screws go all the way through. Also look at the front sides of the trunk where the wheel wells are, see if you can find any leaks coming down from the holes (maybe water is being kicked up in that area).
On the S13, if the hatch is closing correctly and you can't find anything visible, one solution is to check the back taillights. I read somewhere that after awhile, the sealing weatherstripping will come apart and let leaks in between.

My S14 is not taking water from under the car but from the gap on my trunk.. i just wanna know how do i close the gap down because my trunk couldn't be shut completely....the water is coming in from above, not below (i might be repeating myself but what the heck <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'> )
