I know i should if posted this a long time ago, but lol just look and u shall see

My step father and I have started on project 240. It has a long way to go, but it will all workout in the end i hope. The swap thats taking place is a 2JZ GTE into my 240sx.

The original motor that once took the empty spot in the bay was a SR20DET, but I could never see it making power I wanted. It was a tossup between the RB26 & the 2JZ.

Yesterday we came across a problem with fuel not pumping, but thanks to the help @ phoenix tuning it's now solved. So looks like the motor should have its first start in tonight http://supraforums.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif. I will be sure to post a vid.

Almost there just tryin to get the cash to tune the car then YES!!!

Seem to be havin a 3-4k rpm cut but i think it might be to the aem readin that the air flow is maxed out on the aem reading i need to install the aem AIT sensor.

Went to the track a few weeks ago [Pics Below] and ran a 14.3 first pass. I didn't warm up the tires or anything just went for it and also didn' t go all out. Second pass i ran a 13.5 with a small burnout and a bit more gas from 1st gear as the first pass i didnt give it to her until 3rd gear.

For the first time driving the car & the first time ever at the track i had fun. I know the car is good for a high 11s pass, but i would need more seat time before i hit anything like that.

shoulda left the zenki front end on, it was perfect as-is. if you felt the need to change it up the kouki is hard to beat, its so unique and has great lines. I dont like the s15 front end it seems too much like garbage bodykit bullsh!t junk fitting and bodyshops love to bill you, hey some people go S15 front just for the fun of throwing money away, you said it yourself, "S15 is baller", pffffffffffffffff weak. I too am going to join the chorus of people and advise against s15 conversion. I can't stand s14.5's. In my opinion, it is one of the worst looking conversions done on s-chassis' (only one I think looks worse is s14 zenki on s13).

To pull off the S15 (which can look baller on on an S14) It takes quality bodywork, real fly wheel/tire fitment, and in (my opinion) some more width in the rear via overfenders. You mentioned you were going with metal fenders for the conversion, so it sounds like you're on the right track in the bodywork department. If the conversion is what you want, don't let people on the forum change your mind, and don't half ass it! I can't wait to see how this thing turns out.

ya well im doing metal up front + on the rear im gonna get them to cut out my 1/4 and make that wider bigger then 50mm as i wanna get a 335 tire under my rear end if i can. Now i need a wider rim so looks like im going to have to part with my rims soon :( i will prob buy the same ones just wider still 9" front but 11" rear or just gonna change to VS XX rims

That would be an S15 kit on an S15, pay attention to the body lines on the rear quarter panel and follow them all the way to the front.
It flows together.

The S14 would lack this because of its streamline, clean body lines.

Great build thread. First I was excited that everyone else saw the same thing I did (great thread, until the S15 conversion part), but now I just think that everyone's gonna build S14's like mine! (Build thread coming after I get the car back from Mike @ iDesigns).

Love the Brembo GT brakes, love the Volks (even though they're in way conservative offsets), and of course I love the 350whp @ 10 psi. Looks like you've got a non-VVTI engine, but you've got the signature VVTI power dip lol... sucks - good luck gettin it tuned out.

good luck selling the wheels (extremely high offset for most of us here)

since your going s15 front its important to arch out and widen the rear fender with some 50mm fenders or even 30mm's... overall the s15 front is a rather wide in terms of body lines and to make it work with a rather flat rear fenders of a s14 its best to widen the stance to make it work.

good luck finding proper side's and rear bumper that will flow with the front... its not that easy to execute.

Saturday i got my new DD Ford F-150 XL to tow the 240sx around come spring/summer i will post pics tmr!!!

looks like the cage is coming soon along with a new set of VOLK gt-u 9" up front again and 11" out back right now i have 9" with a +37 & 10" out back with a +44 offset with 20mm spacers all around....which would make the 9" +17 and the 10" +24 [im guessin thats right]

now question is should i go with a super high type offset of +17 for the front and a high type offset of +12 for the back??

or +23 or +29 Front & +25 for the rear???

I mean a bigger turbo, injectors, and a tune on an sr and you are in the range of horsepower where you are now. The RB and 2jz engine is great if you build it to hit 700-900 horsepower car but that is really not streetable as a DD or anything. Nice project and good luck with your goals for it...

They also have s13, and 14 kouki conversions for honda's and acuras... because someone put it on a honda or something it sucks. I like cars with the s15 front end, I just don't think it flows with the S14.

So...here is another small update.
I cut my throttle body tunnel off along with the traction control sensor, inside flap & motor. Now its off to get tigged to connect the front section & an extension added[example pic below] on to give me the extra space i need to add a coupling.

so...small update on whats going down.

Fuel System should be here @ the end of the month & turbo manifold should be ready to go by the end of the month :)

i did some ambers on my car didnt forgot one of them at home, but i took pics anyways :) and well the bay :( looks like poop right now lol, but soon it will be insane :) **whats funny is i never put my bumper on right yet lol**[lazy] lol

ive always loved the s15 front end on a s14. hondas with front honda front end swaps dont look so pleasent. however, i think nissans can get away with front end swaps. if you still plan on doing the s15 front, DO IT! but this is me against all the zenki owners here. ahha.

^^^ that s14 with pop up fronts is the most hideous thing ive seen!

dude i have almost the identical same car as you do except mine is a 96. I am not trying to be an ass but why would you dump your sr for this? I mean a bigger turbo, injectors, and a tune on an sr and you are in the range of horsepower where you are now. The rb and 2jz engine is great if you build it to hit 700-900 horsepower car but that is really not streetable as a dd or anything. Nice project and good luck with your goals for it...

Updates

The Newest update is i have now gotten my turbo manifold finished! YA! I also picked up the 90mm TB from a Q45 this thing is huge! I got a nice set of Brembo RSX brakes which im gonna custom make a bracket to use these as my rears! WOW! lol gotta get them painted black as the red isnt gonna match the fronts :) The head gasket and Studs i should have them tmr in hand :) can't wait.

Also getting the 90mm TB custom fitted to my intake manifold and got my runners and upper intake gasket matched so should put out some nice flow numbers later with the built head :)

I have pics for some stuff besides the 90mm TB + head gasket & studs should have some more as the week develops.

Ok so i got some updates :) a few more than last time, but im still waitin on my carbon fiber hood, tow hook & fuel system to come in.

I got my intake manifold modified to support the 90mm TB i got & also got the intake gasket matched to flow better. Just gotta get that part repolished :) Picked up a 10 gallon fuel cell, along with my driver side kick panel with JDM flare which im going to remove and mod to fit on my passenger side :)

Yep, after I posted my message I went back over the pic and noticed it. I must have passed it up on the first pass because I was too busy admiring the turbo.

I relocated my fuse box to the glove compartment area, you can see it hiding out up there to the right of the heater box and below the dash support:

I cut all the wires where they went through the firewall and removed a solid 6ft of wire, and ran them straight from the SMJ up along the lower dash and over into the box. After painstakingly reconnecting all the wires I could (some are duplicate colors, so I put quick-disconnects so I could experiment and see which are which), I realized my body harness is slightly fubar and lots of stuff didn't work in the first place. Anyway, long story short, cut the back off teh box and it'll fit under there no problem.

IT was up on a normal tow truck not a flat bed if everyone is wondering and well the steering column wasn’t locked in place and when he took a turn it fell off and thing that holds the wheel swung around and hit the fender and because it fell it landed on the tow trucks center part between both wheels it hit the pan so...lucky me I took off the front bumper before he came and get the car..

The front brakes above are the brembo GT series 4pot brake system

the rear brakes below are rsx type-r brakes that im getting custom fitted to the back, but will be using diff rotors Q45 rear rotors they are about 1"inch smaller in size. Reason for going with Q45 rotors on the back is because these rotors can only be had in japan and have a $$$ price tag. Also the caliper will be black to match the front.

props to you for doin the swap but the sr20det not making the power you want is a buch of :bs:cuz i plenty of sr's that can romp on the 2jzte or rb26 its a matter of research and knoledge you would have been better off puttin the money and time into building the sr rather just swaping it not knockin for the swap i like unusual swaps but the sr is more powerful than you think or know. with that being said good luck with the swap and car but none the less nice build!!!!!!!!!!

The fuel cell bracket is now complete it's welded and bolted into the car so I don’t think it’s going anywhere. Also painted the trunk and plan on making a custom wall around the trunk will have pics when I get there....I also picked up my Q45 front rotor to test it out on the back of my car with the brembo calipers I picked up awhile back. I also have a shot of the body harness getting ready to make its move to inside the car & to get shortened.

The Back came out kinda bad at the bottom of the trunk, but thats ok you cant see it and your not going to see any of the bracket after we finish making the mount cover for the cell.

man.. planting an RB26 or a a supra engine you completley destroy the weight balance.
what have you don about that? the SR 20 goes up to 500Bhp with stock internals..
Why not stroking it at 2.2 and do the mods you want and keep more or less the weight balance?
Of course... GREAT JOB I HAVE TO ADMIT... they won't allow us here to swap engines unlss they are in production for that car. I bet that car wont' be able to launch even with those 265s you are looking for.. ( BUt the idea of smoking supercars is really tempting) good luck handling your beast. ;)

Today I took on the body harness!!! NEVER AGAIN!!! LOL i spent about 4-5hrs outside today to get it where i have it....It was a big task, but i did it next step is picking up my mesh wire loom and getting everything nice and neat & connecting the harness together. Also in one of the pics you can see i got the front harness to be as thick as an iphone!! awesome!

so today i finished up my wiring for the relocation of the fuse box just got to make it sit and look nice in its final spot and loom everything...tested it out after i put it all back together and it all worked so im happy for my first time ever doing a relocation :)

i also went to pick up my head today from the shop with my new valve seals, cams, springs and retainers + full port and polish :) everything came out great cant wait to put it on i got the flow numbers but i forgot them ill post it up after

Today spent a bit of time outside looming the harness inside the car + making the panel for the fuses which i got to clean up a bit more so everything sits right...it was more a test fit before the final product. :) I also repainted my engine bay since it was looking all ugly & i have a before and after shot. :) The first shot has some light sanding before i painted

Not much to update...Been sick the last 2 weeks and now just feeling better. The plan for the next 2 months is as follows...

1. Fix Relocated Fuse Box [Use Something that can't ground itself]
2. Put On Head
3. Complete Fuel System
4. Get Roll Cage Done
5. Weld Up IC Pipes & Exhaust Pipes
6. Complete Odds & Ends

*No Specific order*

Anyways up to the updates...Oil Cooler, Power Steering Cooler & Oil Sandwich Plate

Update.............

1. Fixed Relocation [Just gotta clean it up a bit more]
2. Engine Wire Harness Came In!!! [After sending it out to get fixed...you can see it Sitting in the bay]
3. Have Part Of The Head On...ARP Studs Are In & bolted down!

On another note gotta paint a part of the firewall since we had a bit of problems getting the head on with the ARP studs :)

Thanks Guys! heat gun works wonders took like 10min to bend it like that. i was scared of it breaking, but i noticed once it gets to the melting point it just falls down to where you need it.

That's a really sweet idea... I should probably do that too with some of this sheet aluminum or fiberglass I've got laying around - fiberglass would mean a lot of finish work though.

what u see! lol MDF reason being is because is has to support the battery + 2 bottles! so i need the added strength [ it will be covered with fabric to match the floor :) ]

So the car hasen't moved anywhere fast, but things are coming together...Anyways my buddy Roger over at RKS Power Systems came over today to get everything setup for my dual tank setup & we should have everything together in the next 2 weeks for that. I have the feed, return and filter plus a bit of line to install before the final step. He is also doing my turbo feed and return and my oil cooler lines :)

Didnt do to much today, but got some of it back together. Also test mounted the oil cooler and the intercooler which im gonna have to cut open that front bumper ;) i also did pick up my polished TB and the tensioner

I also got my buddy with a set of VOLK TE37s to let me test fit & use while my rims dont have tires on them a set of 285 tires on a 18x10.5 rim looks sick [ Car is off the ground, waiting for my volk lug nuts before i lower the car on them :) ]

Today spent most of the day out and about buying some stuff for the garage and got some really nice things....Picked up this nice mastercraft bench which is going to be used as the welders bench & picked up this nice Bench grinder stand which works great. Regarding the car we finished up with the cams & cam gears just waiting for the covers from the polisher, also mounted the IC to the car only have a pic of the top mounts before paint...lower mounts are made but never took any pics, but i can tell you one thing...that intercooler isnt moving anywhere at all.

took a shot at some Tig welding 3 days ago didnt come out to bad for my first time tig welding plus i don't have a foot pedal control :( only on and off type...I PLAN on getting a lincoln 225 tig welder soon!! the tig welder i have now is a randsom one 3 in 1 tig, arc, plasma

Updates regarding the car well...I made some brackets for the rear seat delete so its held in place. The car also got its fuel rail + 1000cc injectors installed so everything is moving nice and on its way! cant wait to finish getting this all together. The oil cooler also got installed, but i dont have pics of that yet.

Not much today...spent a lot of time messing around with the IC pipes and getting the fitment i wanted, one side done. Also got the fuel lines into the car and ready to go for the next step & decided that im gonna keep the top back seat for now until i do up the cage. Gonna fill up that mid section and wrap it all in leather so it looks like a seat. The last thing that was done today was the rear seat wall which i gotta rivet in tmr. i also picked out my spot for my cryO2 setup :)

In the pics below i didnt have the ic pipes in the spot due to i need to get it welded since my welder doesnt have the AC setting soon when i get my new welder...

Today i took my chance at making my own downpipe!!!! This is my first time ever making one and also my first time welding something of this caliber together. I think it came out really nice for my first project & only been welding about 2 weeks :). I just gotta finish up the rest of the exhaust from that part on & connect it to my blitz nur spec exhaust which i had to cut about 2ft off!!!

no i bought 90s and stright pipes and the 90s i cut into 45s to make the exhaust reason being because u dont really want a 90 off the turbo or anything like it in the exhaust because it will restrict flow a bit where if u have 45 its less of a angle and doesnt restrict flow as much

Got some stuff done today. Not much since finished work at 7 and didnt feel like spending much time outside. I almost got the rest of my exhaust all tack welded i plan on finishing it tmr & also finish my ic pipes tmr drive side.

so the oil dip stick was reworked as u can see in the pic below, the FPR was installed in its spot just gotta paint the bracket & the battery box was finished up

i also got my rays 50mm lug nuts today

Anyways today finished up the battery setup. Wires from the battery, starter & alt to the custom fuse box area. Also got the P/S cooler all together, bolted down the cam covers & put everything into place, drilled out the hole for my O2 placement on the downpipe & got the driver side IC pipes started :)
