Testin Waters - 1990 240sx hatch, BALLIN candy paint!

I am debating selling the s13 to get into something different for a while and then later do a coupe. This is my baby and has been garage kept since doing this project. It has been very reliable along with it being my first car at 17 (now aproaching 22)

1990 Nissan s13 240sx hatch (all work done by me)

ENGINE/MODS - sr20det red top, well maintained with mobil one synthetic 10w30 used and changed every 2k miles.

3 inch stainless turbo elbow, downpipe, test pipe, and apexi n1 exhaust.

torque dampener, carbonized steel rocker arm stoppers, greddy top ic pipes with ssqv bov, custom lower pipes, spearco fmic. Knock off catch can.

greddy knock off oil pan, koyo radiator, greddy profec b spec 2 boost controller, greddy turbo timer, autometer phantom boost and pro comp oil pressure gauges. Battery relocated to hatch. Along with a local clutch shop 6 puck sprung 1650lb pressure plate. 255 walbro fuel pump.

INTERIOR - S14 grey seats, black and grey interior, Nardi 350mm black/red suede steering wheel along with azworks quick release hub(not yet installed) Sony explode (forgot model but about 2 1/2 years old) sony explode 6x9 rear speakers. jdm 180sx guge cluster.

SUSPENSION - (all less then a year old) Apexi ex-v coilovers with camber plates, megan tension,toe, and traction rods along with rucas. jdm s14 lsd, 5 lug conversion, ichiba front hubs, z32 rear hubs, z32 e-brake and lines, z32 alluminum calipers, spl stainless swap brake lines, z32 1 1/16 brake mc, new pads all the way around, Super Advan sa3r red/black 17x9 +22 offset with stretched 215/40/17 nexen tires(less then 7 months old).

BODY - (all 1 year old) Silvia dual projector front conversion w/ vis carbon fiber hood, and 02 Nissan Maxima H.I.D. retro fit(done cleanly and can go back to stock if needed) zenki front lip,jdm silvia side skirts, jdm rear kouki lip. rolled quarters.

Paint- Dupont Hot Hues candy apple red over cosmic dust silver. 2 coats of dupont chromapremier sealer, 2 coats of silver base, 3 coats of dupont candy, dupont chroma clear(with some candy in first coat). all dupont material used. Paint material alone was over 1k. wetsanded and buffed slick. smoked tailights,quarter lights and third brake light. Everything was removed during this work, all windows, doors etc. etc.

never driven in the rain, or any other bad weather. These pics. were taken before traction,tension,toe rods and rucas. camber is way better now after alignment was done. This car has had a small amount of fame in S3 magazine and Rides magazine < lol:D hey I don't care it got a pic in a magazine so what the hell!

ive seen your car up forsale before. but to be honest ive been into 240's for nearly 4 years now (not long, but long enough) and i dont see 15k invested in that car, muchless worth that much. props if you get it tho! looks damn good, i bet its a joy and a big head turner.

I put the price like that for 2 reasons, one for weak low ballers that try to lower the price no matter what it is set at, and 2 that I might have more done to it by the time it sells. If you want to get technical go to a body shop with a s13 that needs bodywork and say you want all dupont used on it and want to change the color on it to candy apple red. I bet your price quote will be in between 4-6k (maybe more) for any real place of business that knows what they are doing and that do it right. So as far as not worth that much, I am affraid you are mistaken b/c body and paint is very, very high these days for a reason. Also I have never had my car up for sale so I don't know who's car it was but it honestly was not mine. This car is close to me with a lot of memories so it's hard to sell it now much less any time in the past lol!

so yoru charging 5k for a paintjob you did yourself that cost you no more than 800? friend of mine paitned his 240, took him 2 weeks just to prep. so i know its stresful, but dont say you got a 5k paintjob and really you painted it yourself.

ps. Kingyogi, how would I know so much about the car if it where not really mine jeez. Do you want me to take a picture with a zilvia sign next to it. Really only took you 2 weeks. Well sorry but that might been a tape everything up job. I removed everything off this car when I did it. I am not charging 5k for the paint job, I am simply stating you apparently don't have a clue about body and paint and how expensive it can get with reds alone much less candy. Doesn't the froum rules state you are not supposed to knock on the car or price man. I said I will entertain offers anyways.... Oh well free bumps I suppose.

body work is extremely tideous, and stressful, and VERY expensive to do yourself (and even more if you had to pay someone to do it). You did an amazing job by the looks of it, and i think it is well worth the money. You don't see very many cars that have had their entire color changed and look that good. nice job and glws.

glws, fawk the haters on your price, its an asking price and the car is obviously amazing and clean. its a great starting price, even if it sells for less you set a good OBO price and you shouldnt get knocked down for that, espeically without people seeing it in person, I bet the car shines in person.

nice buildup, I give you props for that nice of a setup at your age and getting the car years ago and putting it all together into a magazine quality setup. rock on. glws!

The street scene has calmed down quite a bit around my area but I am only letting my car go to do something different. I am wanting a r32 to poor my money into, and get a s13 coupe or s14 to daily and one day get back up to par with what I have now. Driftzilla you have a pm.
