we got a blank vhs tape about 3 months before any of the trailers or anything for blair witch were released. no credits. no previews. no intro. just the film. at that time it was scary as fuck cuz no one knew where it had originated from or what it was. but since then, the fact that robert rodriguez made spy kids scares the hell out of me.

Cant wait till the The EYE comes out, with Jessica Alba. Looks pretty good and she does too.

The japenese or korean movie called Shutter was pretty scary.

Also heard the japenese version of the Ring was scary.

Everyone I knew thought the Grudge was stupid, but shiiit. That got me going for weeks because the house in the movie is kinda like mine. Ever since that, I close my closset door before I go to sleep.

To be honest, The Grudge scared the hell out of me.

Not only because of the way she crawls down the stairs, but because my old room didn't have curtains, and I had a clear open view of my backyard...which was pitch black and is full of plants/trees.

My mind wouldn't stop playing tricks on me...

The one where the guy got suspended from high school, came back the next afternoon and shot the assistant principal that suspended him in the shoulder, then walked across the street where this black guy was leaving the art building on his way to football practice, and put the gun to his own head... Black guy turns back and goes back around the corner and watches as the gun jams, then the kid walks up the street, toward the gym, apparently to clear the jam.
He comes back to the same spot as before and does himself under a tree.
... football practice was canceled that day.

Not really, Event Horizon was about a ship with an experimental warp drive that went outside our solar system:eek3d: and the ship became evil. Sunshine was about a ship going to the sun to fire a nuke at it :rl: and one of the surviving members from the first ship tries to stop them, both movies are favorites of mine and kick ass! The Halloween movies used to scare me senseless when I was a kid. Nothing much really scares me now, but the one movie I remember that was pretty disturbing was The People Under the Stairs. That one scene where the guy's in the basement eating out of the corpse was disgusting.

Oh yea, and The Dolls. I took every last Barbie out of my room after I watched that.

man - lots of scary movies listed that bring back some memories.

I remember watching candyman on a day off from school in jr.high with my cousin. it was me, my cousin, and this 70 year old lady in the theater. we were cracking up so hard after the movie because we think she watched the wrong movie by accident. it was just odd to see a someone's grandma watching that movie.

The exorcist was already scary but the re release with the added deleted scenes took it to another level. yeah - they didn't add much but you have to consider when the movie was made.

In the mouth of madness was crazy scary in the beginning, but lost its gusto at the end.

the amityville horror remake had me scared in the theaters.

the remake of the hills have eyes just shocked the hell out of me and my little bro. the part when the family gets invaded....we've never seen such f'd up sht. we were talking about that part days after we saw the movie.

I would have to say Disturbia. It's by no means gory and it's not scary in the traditional sense, but the realistic scenario and the creepy performance by David Morse as Turner just makes it all seem so real. Honestly it's more of a suspense movie than horror, but it's a more real fear than all these crappy gore-fests nowadays.

Vacancy with Kate Beckinsale and Whatshisface wasn't bad either.

Is that the one with John Cusack? That one annoyed the hell out of me. *Spoiler*: For practically the whole movie I was screaming at the TV "There's a f***ing gun hanging over the door in the office you idiots! F***ing grab it and kill them!!!!" LOL.

Seriously? Pans Labyrinth. Creepy.

Amazing movie. One of my favs. I wouldn't call it scary per se, but Captain Vidal sure was a creepy SOB. *Spoiler* And the part where he crushes that guy's face in with a beer bottle is deeply disturbing.

I have a phobia of snakes, so Snakes on a Plane scared the living hell out of me. Only movie where I actually yelled in the theater.

Otherwise there was a korean movie called Doll Master that was scary as hell. I can never look at porcelain dolls the same again. Also the Japanese version of One Missed Call was pretty scary (着信あり), as well as the sequel (not quite as good as the first, but still decent). The hospital scene in the first was just like O.O

Audition had the highest walk out rate in Japan... ever.. :P

But it's still in the top 10 of the most gruesome scenes of all time.

Honestly, the first 45 minutes to an hour make it look like just a regular soap opera with some random scenes thrown in there. Then the bitch snaps and goes into a "oh my god... WHY GOD WHY?!?!?!" type scene...
