Your fuel pump issues could be due to many reasons. How many miles due you have on the original stock fuel pump? I could be that it's reached the end of its service life & needs to be replaced. Only way to know for sure is to get your hands on a Nissan Factory Service Manual, (you can download on from here on Zilvia net....just use the SEARCH function to find it), and follow the diagnostics procedures in the manual to test your fuel pump.

Other problems which may affect your fuel pump are: 1). Bad connectors / wiring leading up to the ECU, fuel pump relay or fuel pump. You'll need a volt/ohm meter and/or a continuity tester to test for shorts in the wiring. 2). Bad fuel pump relay...test with volt/ohm meter, 3). No ground signal from your Engine Control Unit, (ECU). For some unknown reason, the ECU fails to send a ground signal to the fuel pump relay telling the fuel pump to start, hence the dead fuel pump. Options are a). Replace the bad ECU with a working ECU or b). run a new ground wire to the fuel pump relay bypassing the ECU. Only problem with this solution is you'll have to wire the fuel pump relay so it shuts off when the car does.

I've seen several S13's with this problem..its an easy fix provided you know what you are doing.

Anyhow, hope this helps...

Great! You have two threads with the same problem. Keep it in one man.
