NY Street Racing.Whats the Point?

One of my friends just showed me a posting of a recent accident that happened near my home town.Just a reminder of what happens when you take the chances of racing on the street or highway in the vehicle you put your hard earned dollars into, and risking the lives of pedestrians.The story was"he was running from the boys and another car was turning and this guy ran the light doing over 40 mph".Hopefully this will wake up this highly popular street racing area thats claimed alot of lives.Ive been there personally just to see what madness goes on and let me tell you its complete recklessness.Ive gone there to see other silvias just hanging out.I havent been there for over a year cause ive heard that its gotten out of control.This is in Greenpoint,Brooklyn and everyone and thier moms knows about this spot.Its even announced suposedly by a radio show that broadcast all around NYC.

"then the dude got out of the car and posted up like he was chillen!"the guy dissapeared after that leaving the car stranded there with the crowd around it.They were picking and choosing what parts to take while it was flipped up sidedown.If everyone just relaxed and stopped racing around and maybe just hung out thier wouldnt be so many casualties.If any at all.

Sure I've done it before in the past like many others.

But I've learned my lesson.

Hopefully this will teach others not to street race.

I dont know how it is on the east coast, but i would think events/shows like nopi would help promote auto tuning to a positive aspect and give people enough motivation to do car shows or something instead. *I dont like Nopi by the way, cant stand em, but they look pretty big out east* I know for me thats what I look forward to out here, build my car up and do some shows or something (i need a new job i cant afford crap right now), but there are just soo much more positive things you could do with your car and get recognition for it, instead of being another street racer wasting your time and getting no where.

I could only dream about getting the same gas millage that stupid civic got heheh

Francis Lewis is pretty much dead now due to the new NYPD SRT8 Equipped Chargers they got parked across the gyro resturant.It has died down alot but now youll see more exotic cars like the 06 M5's,Gallardos and Porshes rolling around.Which makes it even more dangerous.

He ran the light doing over 40 mph.You knock into a car at 20 and it can be pretty nasty.Not including that the other car was also moving towards the side of his vehicle hence he flipped over to his side.The guy was fleeing from the cops and i believe he was slowing down to make the turn possibly to jump onto the highway or aviod the on coming traffic and nailed the kia.
