okay, so my car wouldnt start, and i ended up tracing it to the ignition coil, which wasnt getting power. (this is after an engine swap) then i noticed that the ground on the exhaust side of the engine wasnt attached (im dumb.). so i attached that, and it fired right up. that was last night. this morning, same thing, ignition coil, but no matter what i try, i cant get it to power up. i reallly need quick help here, as i need to go to school...

did you check the ignitor? also make sure the ground of the coil pack harness is bolted to the back of the head

yeah i'd make sure that ground was good enough..and make sure you're getting a signal from the ignitor as well, hopefully it wasnt fried due to lack of a ground.

should i run a ground from the engine (the back of the head, exhaust side) to the chassis?

It won't hurt. At least it eliminates a possible problem.

I did 2 extra grounds on mine.
-intake mani to firewall
and
-block to firewall
I left all of the factory grounds in place. I may be imagining things but the car seems to turn over a little faster than it used to.

The ground on the back of the head on a KA is a supplement for the main battery ground. If your battery was grounded to the chassis and block already, it really doesn't matter if the smaller one is connected or not.
The coil is powered by the black/red wire in the ECU harness, coming from the underhood plug by the battery. Double check that connection, and also the EGI relay.

well i ran a ground from the head to the chasis at the point were the ignitor ground used to be. still no power. so ran a gound from coil to chasis. still no fix. have to check relays. just weird it didnt work after it did last night. any other ideas if this doesnt work

okay, wierd. the black/red stripped wire is hot. so the coil is getting power. but not sending power out. strange question, why is my egr relay very warm? (temperature wise)
