how often do you spill drinks in your keyboard

because this is becoming a fucking epidemic, and as simple as it should be to fix, i can't stop knocking glasses over on my desk, directly into my keyboard. i think i've done it twice in the last two weeks, and probably once a month before that for years. you'd think i'd make a "no drinks" rule, but that's impossible.
god i suck.

I find it amazing that mine still works. Truly.

3 years of probably 20+ drinks spilled on it... yogurt, chips, pixie sticks, beef jerkey, nacho cheese, salt you name it it has been spilled or landed in the cracks of my keyboard. Which is funny because my room is basically spotless except for the computer station.

My dads an IT guy and he said mine is by far the dirtiest damn keyboard he has ever come across. He said I should send a thank you letter to dell for making such a keyboard, and then tell them everything else they make sucks...

i usually just turn it upside down and shake it, but i opted to pop some keys off to soak up the liquid... and found enough cat hair to build another pet. so gross.

I have been at my desk the last past 2 yrs and never spilt a drink on my keyboard. Thats straight butter fingers....lol. Only thing that has fallen in my keyboard was dorrito chips and a little bit of ceaser salad dressing from when i was mixing the dressing in the bowl provided by mcdonalds.

lol when I had my old laptop I went to grab the TV remote next to it and almost dropped it....fumbled to catch it and knocked a full soda all over my keyboard.....after it tried underneath the keys got sticky and i had to press them really hard to type....thankfully my parents insured it with their homeowners insurance somehow and i got a newer and better one for free from micro center

I'm on keyboard #3 so don't feel bad. I'm the real clumsy one here. I will blame the PBR and Highlife though :) . Someone else mentioned the foldable keyboard which is completely legit. My College had them in one of their computer labs. Cool concept, but annoying as hell to type on. Just felt like i was squishing little jelly-like keys, weirdness. I did spill some coffee on one and the kid working at the lab got up and rinsed it off in the sink and gave it back to me, so cool points on that!!!! :)

heh, i couldn't even count them all. i used to buy nice keyboards... now i just go with the 8 dollar one from wal mart. this one seems to be pretty spill proof compared to previous boards... the way the keys connect, there's like a little levee keeping the juice from fucking everything up. this board's going to be hard to kill.

What about taking a deuce with my laptop chilling on my thighs? It's actually really nice since the heat keeps my bare thighs warm. Plus, cushioned seats for comfort. Got it made.

That's why you buy a laptop from Best Buy and get their warranty. Sure it was $350, but when my friend threw up on it, it was replaced for free. And since it was still under the 1-year manufacture warranty, I still have my BB warranty. :naughty:

I really couldn't tell you. I came back to my dorm (I passed out in my friend's dorm) and my roommate was passed out half naked in his bed. My desk, laptop, and projects were wet. The throw up was all liquid and it smelled like straight up alcohol..

you could drink bottled drinks. or get a mug or somethign with a cap on it or some thing like that... and cap it. also helps if you place it infront of you on the far left past your monitor/keyboard. that's the best thing to do i think. or put it on the left side of your monitor, anyway...
