I usually put my car on wooden step ramps when I'm working underneath it, but now I am working on the suspension and that isn't an option.  So, for the guy who wasn't paying attention, where do you place the hydralic jack and where are the jackstands placed?  This was on the 240sx.org FAQ, but it doesn't work anymore.

Let me see if I can verbally describe it.  About 6 inches in and a few inches from the tire well you can feel by tapping the strong section (the torque box or rocker panel or something).  You can tell the diff since the softer underbody makes a diff sound.  Thats the front one.  I use that to jack it up.  I usually place the lift as far back and towards the tire well as to give room to slide the jackstand under there.

The rear one is I estimate almost right below your rear driver side window.  Its a strong steel section underneath that works great for me also.  Gets the car real high.

Its late right now but if I can snap a couple pics for you tomorrow if someone doesnt beat me to it I will for you.

I'd venture to say that if your control arm attaches to it, its strong enough to use.

Front: there is a metal support running side to side just behind your oil pan. Your control arms attach to it. I use a hydrolic jack in the middle and put my jack stands to the outside of it. Unfortionate I don't have good pics of it...but here it it.

For the rear, I use the differential to jack the car up and the supframe for jackstands. Here's the pics...

However if you have the right jack stands and an adapter for them...use the same jack points but place the jack stands on the stock jacking points (along the side rail thing with the little grove)
Reason being of course, becasue the farther out the jack stands are the more stability they will provide.

What are you doing to your suspension anyway?  Just curious...

I kinda see what u are saying, but if I am picturing it right, that would lift one side at a time.  I wasn't thinking to do it that way, but now that you said it, I think it will be easier for me once I get some mods underway, thanks.  But just so i can do it both ways, where would you mount everything to lift the front or back tires at the same time?  Thanks a bunch.

As soon as I finished typing above, a huge DSC book appears! Whoohoo! Thanks for the help guys.

I'm not doing anything new to my susp. putting in these subframe spacers, and kyb agx and eibach springs once they come in. I also have to hunt around the suspension and find any bent parts b/c my left rear wheel got messed up when i skid into one of those islands and messed up the alignment, hopefully nothing tho...

BTW: I guess I haven't noticed it stand out so much before, but very nice paint job on your car!
