View Full Version : Simulated convertable vs. coupe

Im looking at 240s right now and saw one thats basically what i want (S13, 5sp, coupe) but its a 'simulated convertable.'  Do any think it would be possible to simply tear off the fabric and repaint the car later? are there any other differences from a 'regular' coupe? If its possible then i think ill be buying the one i found. thank you for your help.

You mean he put fabric over the top half of the car?.... eeehhhllll thats gross.  Tear it off, who cars whats underneath and get it painted (if it isn't still painted under neith the fabric) That is not a factory option.

wow....i figured it was somthing id never seen before, i cant beleve some1 would add fabric to a perfectly good car. anyway, thank you for your help.   BTW i checked again, its an '89, but im sure your right about the fake roof.

Eeewwww... Do the car some justice and tear off the fabric and get a nice paint job.

ugh.. that car just poked my eyes... and it hurts..
i believe thats custom.. its not factory so i guess its already painted under that simulated convertable...

um yea...thanks man, the reason i didnt post the link mysllf is b/c ive had cars 'bought out from under me' in the past...but anyway, i called that guy and he didnt answer, its prob gone already like the 5 others i called about...

nah its cool, i didnt mean to come off like a dick. &nbsp;you said you looked for a month, where did u end up finding it? like autotrader or local classafieds, or somthng else?
