i took my alternator off to get it checked and when i bolted it back up the alt. fuse blew, so i got another from the dealership and that blew also. I dont know if the ground off the frame is in the wrong place so where can i ground it? i've already spent $55 just on fuses.

You broke the plastic insulator. Replace it.

messed up in what way?

yeah i had a full charge on the battery. I got it running but now the car just dies after about 10min. then i have to get another jump. I just dont understand...could the battery be bad even though it got a full charge? Its an optima by the way.

dunno, ive just been told that its not good for the new alternator to be run before a fully charged battery is hooked up.

i got the alternator tested and it is good but i guess it could be some kind of eletric leak somewhere. but how can a FULLY charged battery go dead in amatter of hours?

The plastic grommet on the alternator where the ground lead goes is fucked. Your having that ground touch something it shouldnt, causing your main amp fuse to blow.

If ya dont wanna spend 15 bucks on fuses find some J30's in a junk yard they use the same Amp/Style fuse as the S-13
I picked up about 5 of them :P

But if your killing Batteries your alt is not charging the Battery also if that fuse is not in it wont charge it. somthings grounding out to blow the fuse.
