I just read this also. It would have been great to play the game with a proper controller. I loved the N64 controller back in the day, but try and play a fps on a console now without the right analog stick is brutal. Running and headshots took a bit of skill using the default setup because you had to hold the R button then aim(which stopped your movement). Another thing is the lack of a melee attack button, once you have that it's hard to go without it.

If you guys are jonesing for some Goldeneye goodness give Timesplitters 2 a shot on the regular xbox. Same developers and some sweet ass multiplayer considering the game is 6+ years old. Monkeys ftw.

It was their game. They are releasing it on their system. Why would you expect anything less?

It was released on their system, and you don't think they own the rights to the game? Nintendo is smart. Fuckin Genius actually. I think you're underestimating them.

With that said, assuming they own the rights, and it's such a popular game, it would be nuts to give it up for any amount of money. Exclusivity still has perks 15 years later. :bigok:

You realize that the reports that are out right now are only MS side of things? And MS said Nintendo won't allow it to be released on a competitors system. ie it'll be out on theirs though.

I'd wait to hear both sides of the story before bashing the Big N so quickly.

I know all about the Nintendo/Sony deal. Nintendo is pretty ruthless. I still can't blame'em. This is business. There's money to be made. You don't just hand money to your competitors. Unfortunately that's not always what's best for consumers.

The reason is because Rare (Goldeneye's Developer) was a 2nd Party for Nintendo at the time. (translation: Nintendo owned them, but sold them to MS).
