Alright I have a question about fuel injector options.

I searched the first four of 70+ pages using "fuel injector" as a keyword and didn't turn up much.

It's a pretty straightforward question.

What is the advantage/disadvantage to top-feed over side-feed injectors?

The reason I'm asking is because I recently obtained on an HKS anodized top-feed fuel rail. And I need to figure out whether to keep it or not. (not meaning I'm ready to install, just for future upgrades.)

Thanks in advance.

well the biggest reason for top feed is the vast options and cost difference. say a 550cc injector. you could easly get both top or side feed but you have less options in side feed and you're gonna pay close to twice the price and you may only find 3 different types but in top feed you may have 30. if you have an s13 motor than keep the rail s14 sr20det's (which i unfortunatly have in this case) you have to use a different intake manifold b/c of clearance issues. so in my case i'm looking for a set of used sid feeders. thats about it.

so if I have stock s13 sr fuel rail and intake manifold, should I look for side feed or top feed? cz im thinking to get my friend's wrx's injectors

well if you getting your friends wrx then your decision is made.....if you go top feed injectors are cheaper but that might be offset by the price of the fittings for the rail or the rail itself if you dont have one and a fpr and lines, braided ones at least for the look....

so you saying as long as i get the side feed, i will be fine with the stock fuel rail and fpr set up?

its like 5 lug vs 4 lug... More options & a little cheaper...

Mechanically speaking I don't think there's much advantage to one vs the other.
